    Toughie...
I take for PS2, because of Tales of Legendia and Abyss..

    • Rogue Galaxy
    • Dark Cloud 2
    • Odin Sphere
    • Summoner

Tho somes you are bound to some menu action like Summoner.. but its not turn based.

What you looking for is "Action RPGs" that should narrow alot your search, there are other titles, thoses were the recent i played

Kingdom Hearts... what a conformist. <,<. I never played.

    Anyway::

Star Ocean: Til the End of Time
    Final Fantasy XII

Both for PS2. You can also try Valkyrie Profile 2: Sylmeria, but I haven't tried that, so I don't know how it is.

VP2S is turn based just like the 1st.

    Agreed!
If you are afraid of "Slowness" in combat, that is easily fixed, by playing a little.

Last Turn-based I played: Ar Tonelico: Melody of Eternia
In less then 6 hours I knew by heard the position of everything I needed to do in battle..

Battle went so smooth that didn't even fell turn based!

Secret of Mana 2 (or Seiken Densetsu 3) for SNES.

You walk around, if you get near an enemy you'll ready your weapon and you can choose either to atack or to ignore them.

Its not the ground breaking RPG, but its a fresh air, and some interesting history..
Its not a "Hard" rpg also.

If you up for some fun RPG and something out of ordinary definately its a game to play.

It does not have a +mode, thats the only thing I have to complain.
And the game itself has a build in "Dating Sim" where depending how you threat, interact with your Reivatel, you get different endings (7 in total) 2 for each 1 bad.

The MOE level of the game is 10 "noda~~~~"
Definately a nice game to play
