    You probably mean FFXII.

I would also like to vote for Terranigma, it was one of my favourite SNES games, and my favourite SNES RPG right after Chrono Trigger and FFVI. Chrono Trigger and FFVI are both turn-based though, and I'm not sure that it's what the thread starter is looking for.

Speaking of SNES Rpg's, the hidden jewel that no one remembers:

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Especially Bowser's special attack using Mario as a boomerang, that just rocks.

Ow I remember SM:Rpg.. I imported it, and got very happy I didn't suck!!

But if you willing to go even further down!

    The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy
Its a NES game.. Yes, nes.. not Snes! There are for PC and MegaDrive.. but go with the NES one.

Awesome little bugger, and don't underestimate this game, or you might get frustrated! its HARD!

Hmmm, well then, I counter with Phantasy Star 1 for the Sega Master System, and 2 and 3 for the Genesis(you can get all three in one game, by the way, for the Game Boy Advance).

Or, you could go old school and play the Ultima series.

Or Skies of Arcadia for the Dreamcast.

Since no one mentioned it Star Ocean: the second story (PS1)
Really awsome system to the game overall.(better than till the end of time imo)
If you play Terranigma play its prequals Soul Blazer and Illusions of Gaia.

Pitfall! for Atari (I can't even think of anything older=p)

    And talking about old games
Maniac Mansion and Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle are great games I had my share of hamster fun on DotT

    Can't forget:
The Legend of Kyrandia (there are 3, play them all)
Although the last one wasn't as good as the first two.

Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade (Do Kids nowadays know who Indiana jones was?)

Full Throttle! How could I forget my Motorcycle riding rpg! I think i remember seeing a copy of this game being sold at best buy for 5bucks on that big bin

When I went looking for the box of Full Throttle(because I suck and wans't sure of the spelling, just I don't mess up like I did with BGII), I found Monkey Island Escape from Monkey Island next to it..
So add there, the MI collection, there are 4 in total

You know LucasArts made so many great games, why it stoped? SWG is shit.. but it is where lies the money. Old times good games.
Get them all it will probably fit in a cd! heck some of them you can fit on a flop disk, but I doubt your computer even has one =p

There are a couple more titles there.. like Prince of Persia and such.. but I recomend thoses, and if you play them all, thats like 3months of RPG/Adventure for me atleast

I didn't think that Full Throttle or the Monkey Island Series(or Sam and Max, or Grim Fandango[now, there was a great game]) really counted as RPG's...

...Well, then, let's go old old old old school with Akalabeth(1979 or 1980, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akalabeth) and Odyssey: The Compleate Apventure(1980, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odyssey:_The_Compleat_Apventure ). =p
