Shin Megami tensei 1 & 2(snes)
Super Robot Wars(strategy game with mechs from the various mech anime worlds like gundam and evangelion, where doing over 900k damage can only barely dent a boss' hp)
Shodai Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun (basic beat em up with the characters from River City Ransom)
puzzle fighter is fun but only if your not getting your ass kicked badly by a player who uses dan.

lol, i remember threads of fate...ahaha.
Umm...lets see what else..
- Vagrant Story
I want to add:
Saga Frontier: PS1 (story and game play's great. too bad I've never finished it)
Xenogears: PS1 (forget FF this is better!)
I would say:
- Jade Cocoon (the first one)
- Monster Hunter (though the PSP version is really popular)
I remember playing monster rancher 2, I used to love that game.

HoMM2 is the best of the series.

Why is II the best?
