Web browsing with the consoles

I agree with you hear that mobile devices should be better developed for surfing on the web. The sidekick is good but still it lags and is slow on some sites.

Browsing on the Wii is okay...I like how you can zoom in and out, that tends to wrap up the resolution problem, at least for my purposes.

It's a pain to type on it, though. No copy/paste. At least, not that I can find. :/

typing on any console without a keyboard is a pain, but can be worth it for youtubing on the big screen. The Wii seems to be the best after PC.

lmao. Now that you think about it that would look so weird an ugly. Wait doesn't the image look bigger when its on a big tv?

One pixel would appear to be the size of 64 pixels. Add that on top of the lousy video compression they use.

Oh yeah, I can't wait to watch Youtube videos on my Wii.

A few things....

Cellphone browsing sucks. 14 characters across at best. One reason that cellphone browsing wasn't listed. The other is it's not HTML but either WAP(XML) or WAP2 (XHTML). Very limited in graphics. Much like the DS browser which is actually a cellphone browser with javascript support.

You can check out my site on cell.. wap2.animelondon.ca and see how much you have to give up to be useful on cell browsers. I ended up having one graphic and pages within pages using html 'target' command to save having to load dozen of tiny pages.

I never did get the screen to change by pressing the left right buttons nor cosplay galleries. The galleries would have actually be the thumbnails from my site since some cell plans charge by the Kb. In MOST cases, companiesonly let you browse THEIR sites. They even go as far as disabling entering in URLs on the phones.

Browsing on consoles is starting to sound alot troublesome. They didn't put alot of thought into how to browse without a keyboard. Also I'm finding it problematic to find information on how to best format my pages for consoles.

Particular for the DS. It would be cool to be able to program navigation for bottom screen and display for the top. Looking at reformating my galleries for DS screen and modifying a javascript or PHP gallery-slideshow program for the DS.
