Crysis small talk.
When you look at the team behind Crysis, it's like the Justice League, you know? It's like the big players are all pitting in this together against their rivals.
When you consider that Intel and NVIDIA have dozens of guys in almost total permanence at Crytek to help the development team fully utilize their own technologies, you can only fear what the outcome of this will be.
If Lost Planet is any example of how skewed performance is towards a type of video card when the team has received help from a certain company, ATI/AMD should be trembling. Lost Planet's PC port team received lots of help from NVIDIA and resulted in great performance on the GEFORCE 8 and immensely craptacular slideshows on AMD/ATI's HD 2900XT.
Great.
Now with Intel having a hand in Crysis as well and seeing how their implementation of SSE4 is kicking some serious butt (SSE4-optimized sofware get 60-70% performance boost compared to SSE3-software), it gives me no choice but to believe that they are going to make this game run immensely well on the Core 2 Penryn refresh, thus creating a negative bias against AMD's Barcelona.
We already have platform exclusivity, and this trend makes me believe there will be a GPU and CPU exclusivity thing going on soon.
"Works only on NVIDIA hardware!"
"Only plays on Intel processors!"
"This game is for AMD/ATI-powered computers only."
