    Default Manhunt 2.

I'm suprised there hasn't already been a thread for this yet.

Anyway, Take-Two have just suspended the game. http://kotaku.com/gaming/breaking/ta...t-2-271183.php
What is everyone's opinions on this and the whole Manhunt debacle in general)?

To quote what I've already said at Kotaku:

Honestly I couldn't care less about the age rating, this game should never have been given the green light to begin with IMO. Ignoring for a minute the fact that others are denying our freedom to choose, no one of sound mind should want to play this game anyway.

I'm not saying I agree with Jack Thompson or his stance on violent games, our opinions just happen to coincide.

As for the ratings and bannings, I agree with them. Sods law some soccer mom would have bought the game for her 5 year old son and then blamed the game when he accidentally hung himself with a power cord in a completely unrelated incident. Seriously, the gaming industry is just starting to pick up speed as a family entertainment system (thank you Wii), the last thing it needs is some obscenely violent game fouling up the works and creating bad press.

If you ask me, people are fucking stupid for thinking into it so much.
Its a game, if you like OTT violence, play it. You don't, shut up and go play Pokemans.

Will I be regretting saying this when my kid goes postal years from now? I think not.

Bah, I am totally disinterested in overly violent games. The most violent ones that I have played and enjoyed are Fallout 2 and Mortal Kombat.

Eh. I don't care. This game isn't going to cause another Columbine or whatever bullshit "tragedy", nor is it the fault of the company if some parent is stupid enough to buy this game for their toddler.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

I think it is really stupid to banned this game. Aren't there movies much more violent then this game?? Heck, i mean look at Hostel, Hitcher(dude got split in half, and it was really graphic), Texas Chainsaw massacre...And all those movies got an R rating. The BBFC started this chain reaction, why are british people so damn picky?? This is why i dont like playing with them on LIVe.

    I jacked it!!!

age restrictions are good but censure isn't, especially as this isn't that much violent compared to lots and lots of books or movies that are easily accessible for teenagers... i don't think i would play it but restricting its sale to adults would be enough.

Anyone seen the preview for the "John Rambo" movie? That was pretty damn violent... but just as a preview.

This is a game, that one was a movie... with real people getting [fake] throats ripped out and whatnot... with awesome camera angles.

    And I agree with SD.

Stupid Parent => stupid game for stupid kid => The whole world's complaining about one idiot who doesn't seem to know reality for fabrication. And this isn't something you can blame on better graphics.

And didn't this already get slapped with an Ao rating?

They're gonna rework the game so that Nintendo and Sony will allow it on their consoles. Waste of time, if you ask me...
