Default Enemy Territory: Quake Wars looking pretty darn good!

    Preview at bit-tech.net

“The mega-textures in the game are now about twice the size as they were in that trailer. Todd Hollenshead said proudly as he sat down to play a game with us. “The technology renders the entire battlefield un-tiled and unbroken to the horizon, representing terrain with inch-level detail.”

“Levels are about a mile across diagonally,” Paul told us as he no-clipped around the mountains, looking for a good place to deploy an artillery turret, “There’s no fog in the levels now. So, if you get into a dogfight with people then they don’t keep disappearing and if you’re in a good spot you can snipe across the whole map.”
No more repeated textures/texture tiling! Wooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Example of repeated textures and texture tiling:

-From Half Life 2 Lost Coast.

Since I would have never spoted the texture tiling on the cliff in that shot (I would be much to preocupied by the tiling on the steps), I wouldn't really be woried about tiling in the game. What I find even more interesting is the no fog, that will be awesome.

It doesn't take a powerful PC to run Doom 3 games well.

Something like a 7600GT and an AMD 3700+ and 1GB of RAM is far sufficient.

man u wouldn't say that if u knew how powerful my pc was:
    how about this:
    Intel Chipset 82845
    Celeron P4 2.4 GHz
    1GB RAM
The only game I play with no problem is Halo 1 and even then I got to put everything on Low.

    I jacked it!!!

Have you ever thought about upgrading? You could get something much more powerful than that for a few hundred bucks now.
