Scrap the point about dvd playback, everyone has one these days, and it's hard to obtain some of the ps2's older gems, like rachet and clank 2 for example(since it's seems that new copies are no longer being made). However the same applies to gamecube games as well now, in either case you're going to have to hunt for preowned games. Also the extensive games libary point can also be a negative, i've currently got more games than i have time to play

    Well, ps2 > ps3 xD

At least until both (Wii & PS3) get more games.

Same here, I'm still using my PS2 while the Wii is just collecting dust.

Imo gameplay has been alright, a lot of the games are just mindless swinging and have gotten pretty repetitive.

I've got a small room already, don't like adding unnecessary things that would make it even more cramped. For me it's a convenience compared to the Wii. And just because you have a lot of games you don't have time to play, that does not mean they aren't good games right? or unless you bought some crappy games, if not I don't see why it is a bad thing to have lots of good games that you'll want to play eventually.

Well the good news is that it seems all the big cut scenes have English voice acting something I can't say is done for Nintendo rpg's.

My PS2 has been on life support by me for a while now. I have to keep greasing the runners, adjust the laser every few months, and I just run it without a cover now. I only wish I can find a cheep network adapter for it, so I can try and drop a HD in there (I have a few oldies laying around, one of which seems to have a good chance of being compatible).

I got a Code Breaker disk for it and find I can do quite a few new and fun things... which I will not mention. Besides that, I'm still enjoying GH (and the new things I've found I can do with that ).

This game does look interesting though... but I still have a few to finish... and I want to get a copy of Valkyrie Profile 2. These games tend to get a value to them down the road though, just for the fact they are released so late, and it's out there enough to fly pretty well under the radar. So... might be worth it for the investment, even if I never get around to playing it. I'll have to see how my cash stores are at the end of the summer. :P

dvd playback should be a norm. Sure the high definition playback is optional and the ps3 is the only one that took that route (as in it's standard, not an accessory), but at least the wii should have dvd playback.
