I suppose I am the only one in this world who didn't like Final Fantasy VII at all.
IV and IX is where it's at, baby.

ah snapz...i thought IX was kick ass as well too. I loved the hunting games, the one where ur in the forest and the treasure hunts where u are out in the world, i thought the game in general was freggin awesome. So many ppl didnt like that game as much as others....quite sad imo.

IX is severely underappreciated, but it annoyed me that on the same day I finished it, the save became corrupt. VIII was good until Rinoa used her sorcerery to screw up Squall's character.

V was fun, though probably the weakest in plot.

    VI everyone already loves.

IV did nothing for me, probably since I had little early exposure.

VII, ah, my first PS1 rpg, great memories but in my heart it doesn't compare to Xenogears.

my ps1's first rpg too and unlike you it is held dearly im my heart, but by god, Xenogears is held just as tightly. THAT GAME IMO, is SO underrated. The most complex story line EVER (but not confusing at all).

I hold it dear too, but not to the same degree as Xenogears, which indeed is underrated...

Even moreso now that I have to clutch to memories of it since Xenosaga Ep II+ came out... *shudders*

IX was my favourite FF of all time, S-E needs to make more rpgs like it, the only FF that i could compare to a Dragonquest game in terms of kickass. Personally i found FFXII disappointing, when doing rpg remakes, S-E should stick to the tried and tested battle systems.

I don't want a remake. It would ruin the charm of the original in my opinion.

I don't know what it was about IX, but I didn't find it quite as engaging as VII, I guess I should really go and complete IX.

Yeah I preffered the old battle system (occasionally I even like random encounters), but the new realtime battle system is quite good when you get the hang of it (I just can't be bothered to set gambits most of the time). As for the plot, it takes a while to get going, and there is no point where you can say "this is where the story really got going". There's a bit too much politics aswell.

Remake of FF VII ? Hm... Wasn't the higher ups of Square Enix already stated that it needed min. 5 years to make the game in PS 3 engine ? So maybe they decided to decline it ? Maybe time's changed .....

But I don't really hope them to make a remake of FF VII, because personally i think FF VII is already superb.. I wanted them to make a continuation or prequel of FF VII, while continuation is definitely not possible since there is AC. But the prequel with the Ancient background IMHO is more possible ( the ancient fight with Jenova ).

Xenogears have some of the best story line out there, just I heard that the US version story has been altered then the Japanese version. But it still good, real good.
LONG LIVE HIME-SAMA. MY LIFE FOR RUMBLANDIA!
