DOA first started off on the Arcade then moved to the Saturn in a perfect conversion, which then the playstation was given a port but it was a lesser version then the Arcade and Saturn version (lacking 3D Backgrounds).

After that generation, DOA2 released on the Dreamcast in two forms, first the original form and then in the Limited Editition form. The PS2 version released with the subtitle Hardcore which improved the graphics over the DC version and added new stages.

Xbox got the 3rd incarnation which I believe is the worse one, it played worse and the levels were too large to even care for since the fights in DOA never move far or last too long.
