Thread: Is it just me or is the Pokemon franchise running out of...

ideas. Honestly some of these new pokemon look so similar to older ones. Also they give these little monsters such odd names. Not to mention why is thye ratio of grass pokemon to any other type so high?

Nah, I think its just you. The Pokemon game formula was great and now four iterations later its being refined and refreshed while still keeping a classic feel.

Plus any real Pokemaniac knows that there are far more water pokemon than anything else.

It can't be just me. I mean honestly. There is some hippo pokemon in the game. That looks utterly ridiculous. I only like the classic 151 pokemon.

Well it seems like the ratio of grass to water is not even at all. Seems they incorporated a lot more grass pokemon this time around.

really? although the core formula (trainer, rival, evil Team, 8 badges, elite 4, aftergame) is the same theres new and interesting alterations, like the Physical/Special aspect of the moves, the night/day phase, pokemon gender, pokemon breeding... all are fresh things that keep the series interesting. If anything each iteration is gaining MORE steam not less.

Yeah, I could never really get into Pokemon, even though everybody back in high school seemed to be gaga over it.

Never really clicked with the collecting and all, though I'd probably be more inclined towards it if you were catching little fairy women or something.

And pleasuring them to collect little fairy juice. Oh yes.

It's true they are adding innovation to the way the game is played, but no to the characters. I am not totally disappointed in the diamond and pearl. just think it could have been better. i haven't played it yet, but I will once I get my DS =)

I know... still what I have seen from the pokemon sites with all the little monsters showing. You can see the character features and resemblance
