If they put FF on X-BOX Sony will feel like being back stabbed and that will lead into all sorts of awkward game releases.

But I think sooner or later FF will get greedy and try to tackle both industry, and when that happens, all sorts of games might cross breed as well.

What do you people have against lateral thinking?

I'm trying to say to you that FFXI on the PC was an afterthought when on the PS2 it was doing well. On the Xbox360 it was just trying to widen the user base to a failing MMO. What are the expansions that the original never had? There are 3 expansions for FFXI, Rise of Zilart, Chains of Promathia and Treasures of Aht Urhgan. The original was on the PS2, considering a large portion of the user base is still using the PS2 (hence why they can't drop support for it and do what you say they are doing) why would they make expansions that alienate a large portion of their income fees?

Saying it again, THERE ARE NO EXPANSIONS EXCLUSIVE TO ANYTHING IN FFXI.

That is a radical change from what they had been doing. Why would they make this change, after 20 years of being just Nintendo and Playstation? Take into account that they are Japanese, and the Japanese are notorious in the business world for being careful people that only slowly get into new things. Seems to me, such a radical change, though still small now, can only mean that they are branching out.
This topic was never about whether SE would release a GAME on the Xbox or PC, it was whether they would release a Final Fantasy game, no less the main stream title on the PC or Xbox. And to that, I've said before it's very very unlikely that they will.

But hey, who can tell, because you know -- we all work at SE and know what they are thinking. I said looking at their track record which you can see how they are likely to operate (and you corrected me already, which I admitted). FF is Square's main title, the most important asset they own. Going on this it's going to be a long while before they build the confidence in the Xbox360 and if it doesn't do well in Japan they won't ever release a main stream FF game on it. If in a while the PS3 is still falling behind and the Wii is not dominating completely then there is a chance it could happen.

Right, I also remember that Japanese business men are quite loyal. I think Sony and Nintendo are more important to SE then Mircosoft. I remember that they have lots of pride, and if that's true then SE won't want it's baby to get molested by the Xbox if it flops, losing face is bad for them. Also while you may think the Japanese are slow and careful with their processes, they aren't. In today's business world things are swift and decisive, which falls in with your claim about how the changes they made, the old concepts are no longer practiced. The decisions to expand a bit weren't based on the gaming world, it was based on the business world (and that SE loses money with some of the stupid projects they do).

These are my reason why I think SE won't be doing an Xbox release anytime soon. I've said in most if not all of my posts that anything could happen, that it's a possibility it could get released.

i think it would be slightly new and probably better, because the PS3 is not doing so hot and it will only make them loose money, the 360 did so better in the market, it would probably make more money then they would with the PS3.

It's going to happen no ifs or buts about it, The Fabula Nova Crystallis is going to be quite a few titles.
