hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....................
tekken is awesome. and the new one is gonna be awesome (lalalala *blocks out criticism of game*) i haven't really played the arcade one but i own tekken 3-5. i haven't played in like forever so i probably suck now.
Tekken sucks. Too many useless and pointless moves in it just to make it seem deep.
the games r good. they wouldn't have sold that much if they weren't. and to u a lot of the moves may seem useless but some people like to use certain characters differently.
No they're not. They are however, very shoddy fighters.
explain how the tekken series are not good. they've had over 5 installments and the 6th (storyline wise) is coming out. if it was just dumb luck that got them there, explain why the games are still doing good.
Well, for one thing, it's slow. Contend that point.
That statement could mean one of two things:
1. Faster fighting games are better
OR
2. The public prefers slow fighting games
Neither of which are true. Case in point: Street Fighter.
I also happen to like the fact that the game doesn't run at high speeds like Dead or Alive and some other fighters out there. I don't know if you've noticed, but in games like that things often move so fast that your reflexes aren't quite fast enough to block/counter effectively. Games like those often resort to button mashing and very aggressive fighting, whereas in games like Tekken it's (almost) always the more skillful fighter who wins.
That doesn't prove that Tekken is a bad game, it just shows that you have an opinion. So it has a lot of moves that you don't like, just use the ones that you feel work best then. At least they've offered you the choice of using others if you want to (which could also help you when your moves get repetitive enough to be countered or blocked with ease).Tekken sucks. Too many useless and pointless moves in it just to make it seem deep.
Let me just ignore that stupid fanboy banter.
Anyway, there's also the cooky plot they have going, or at least something that looks like a plot which is pretty much insulting to the aesthetic sense of the player.
Then there's the really gay way of having characters pop up with no aging at all. I don't care if Popo got submerged in the fountain of youth, make him old.
Also Paul x Law is one too many faggots than I would like.
Ignoring isn't how it works when you ask someone to refute your argument.
It all comes down to personal preference anyway. I prefer a game that isn't all super-fast combos, that has a decent enough of a variety of moves for me to come up with my own style of play (and to adapt to other people's), and that has fun and atleast semi-realistic combat (with just enough artistic license so that it doesn't become boring).
Regarding storylines, come on now. Every fighting game has some sort of crappy excuse for a storyline, and none of them take themselves seriously. I thought everybody had come to terms with that a long time ago.
Regarding ageing, it's been only about 10-15 years or so since the series was created, should they really look that much older now than they did back then? Which fighting games have characters who have aged more than that anyway? It seems like you're just struggling to find things to pick at because you personally don't like the game.
While we're at it, why don't you mention your fighting game of choice?
