For me, the voice acting was still better than VP1, and the story, yeah it doesn't really much related to the myth, but it's still interesting for me. I agree that the limitation during the cutscene is kinda annoying, but it's not much a problem for me. Persistent lvling demand? I'm not quite sure about this, but IMO many rpg games are like this (including shadow hearts, some FF and xenosaga).
btw, I didn't find this game boring to me, since I enjoy playing it especially once I reach Seraphic Gate.

i just got the NORMAL ending, where you kill surt, and i checked the seraphic gate a bit but didn't finished it, but overall i think it was an easy game pretty much 'cause i heard bloodbane was a hard enemy and it was like another normal boss for me, i know it wouln't be that hard to take on the 2 million hp boss of the seraphic gate =P

i know the story because of the manga and i related it all within the game so i know the storyline is fairly good

later i started to play HARD mode but too many crap kept me busy so i haven't played it again

    and oh... nice signature ^^

normal ending was kinda boring, since it's all about Lenneth job as a Vakyrie. Going to Jotunheim, met and kill Surt, then sleep again for the next awakening...
As for me, I play straight into hard mode because I want to get the extra characters (Freya, Brahms and Lezard). It's not that hard though, everything is almost the same except for the exp gained, and the dungeons.
I play normall to get ending A (which was even more interesting of course), then reload, at chapter 8 I didn't go to Asgard, instead go to Jotunheim and get ending B (just to see how it looks like), and then reload again, and this time I reduce my evaluation points and get Ending C (lol, freya was darn strong).

btw, it's true that bloodbane is the strongest enemy in the normal game (just whack him with combo+PWS (celestial star ) several time and he'll surely dead, with guts+auto item as survival skill. But in seraphic gate, I don't think the enemy is any neasier to kill, especially the very last platform where we met EThereal Queen. All the enemies are boss-type monster, plus the hardest ever enemy to beat: the hamsters.

Anyway, you've read the manga? Did you buy it or download it? If it's download, where did you download it? By far I only read Valkyrie Profile The dark Alchemist...

ive heard great things about it, this was one of the only games i would have bought a psp for... later on i may pick up the ps2 game when it hits the $20 mark... are the games related to each other? because i dont feel like digging up shit on the first one when i want to play the second.

The story is related a bit from each other, but that doesn't necesarily means you need to play VP1 in order to understand VP2. In fact, I also play VP Silmeria first before I get my hand on PSP and play Valkyrie Profile Lenneth.
Some of the event in Valkyrie Profile Lenneth are the result of events in VPSilmeria, and vice versa. For example, the destruction of Dipan in VP1 and why it occur in VP2, Lezard being the only human survive from Ragnarok in VP1 and why he was there in VP2 etc...but it's all just a piece of the plot which doesn't really someone need to know to play either one of the game...

It's one of the original RPGs for the PS1, you know? In a time where RPGs were mostly good. VP1 is great, but VP2 is an improvement in every aspect, the story is told more consistantly and flows well, unlike VP1 where the story was mostly chopped up into bits. The battle system improved vastly and made much more stratigical and the voice acting (although not as nostalgic) was great, around the same level if not lower then FFXII. Although I kinda miss the old voices, the new ones are still good.

Also VP2 is a sequel and a prequel, it helps if you play VP1, because somethings only make sense if you play VP1. Also, it makes you love Hrist even more, she's so awesome.

yeah i understand the enemies in the seraphic gate are hard, tough i know it's far from being a "really hard" thing, why? 'cause i played it 'just a bit' and it was a piece of cake, overall RPGs aren't hard battle-wise

and the manga, sorry but i got from mirc, and i don't really remember the channel or user but you should check users from illuminati-manga and yanime, they're the ones i visit the most

Yeah, agree with that. It makes me love Hrist even more. In VP1, she was like...(you know what I mean) but then in VP2 her appearance changed, even with those cruel eyes and black armor, make her look elegant. And in battle, though she's a bit weak at first but once Gungnir is in her possession, she become one of the best killer in the game.
I really hope someday Tri-Ace would make Valkyrie Profile 3: Hrist, which I suppose would be centered around the conflict between Brahms and Hrist (as previewed in VP1)

@Zaephyr:Yeah it's true a portion of enemies in seraphic gate is easy, terribly easy to kill, that's why I suggest you explore even deeper and deeper into the dungeon, and you'll know why I said the enemies is hard. The enemies are getting stronger the deeper you go. Just like Maze of Tribulation in SO3, or Sphere 211. With sufficient lvl and weapon they're still down easily though...But there's this annoying combo: the evil eye enemies which kept resurrecting each other. This is when Celestial Star comes in handy.
