    Default would you like a fighting game on PC ? -- please vote

    I would just like to know how much people would actually enjoy a good fighting game on PC (and would be ready to buy it of course)

    I am asking because of all the games that are going more and more crossplatform (which is great and allow me to hope for a good fighting game on PC ) and i had an argument with a friend about it, as according to him PC gamers don't give a shit about fighting games... (i don't remember ever having a choice personally)
    I know there are some big communities out there that play MUGEN (which is old and a pain to configure), so i personally think there is a public for good fighting games for PC (i even used to play mugen at 2 players on one keyboard xP)

    Sure, but it'll still be inferior control-wise to arcade and console fighters.

    but you can buy equivalent controllers for PC (PS2 controllers work with PC i think, and XBOX360 ones are made to work perfectly with vista)

    The question is if PC gamers would be ready to pay for the extra controller, and i think they would if it was worth it

    QFT!

    Fighting games on pc is another way of saying bang your keyboard. my brother got some fighting games for my pc (KOF, SF etc) and the moment he started playing it. I could literally hear my keyboard dying =_=

    EDIT:

    @vincent : i hope you started writing your post before i posted my last one -_-"

    i don't think it is a fair argument as there are controllers for PCs and you don't have to use your keyboard if you don't want to...

    @hermit : what ?

    I'm not talking about the control scheme. It's just that fighting games are a genre that fails when compared to PC games in general.
    Let's assume that VF5 is also on PC. Would you play VF5 when there's:
    Supreme Commander
    STALKER
    World of Warcraft
    Guild Wars
    Heck, even Starcraft and Warcraft III
    And then the upcoming games like:
    UT3
    Spore
    Alan Wake
    Command and Conquer 3
    etc

    No way a fighting game can get my attention on a platform where there are tons of far better games.

    Console gaming remains a mostly mindless and a poor (experience-wise)-man's land to me.

    Look what happens when they try to move the best console games onto the PC, they FAIL compared to other titles.
    Remember Halo Combat Evolved on PC? Far Cry was there.
    And when they port PC games to consoles, they also fail because they are too complex for consoles. Battle for Middle Earth 2 and Command and Conquer 3 are good examples.
    And when they make a game for both PC and console with cross-platform multiplayer in mind, it also fails for being too stupid on PC. Hello Shadowrun.

    actually I did start writing my post before youposted yours.
    thats why I put the EDIT-thingie there ^^
    I forgot that there are controllers made for pc's but I still feel it is better to play fighting games in consoles and a LOT better playing them in arcades (challenging random people is fun)
    @hermit : what ?

    Jyuu's got a big point.

    Fighting games are great, but there's really no need for them on the PC.
    Not only would it be a bit annoying to buy an extra controller, but the PC hardware is simply fit more for different games. It's the same reason why J-RPGs are on consoles. The only advantage PC gaming could have to fighting games would be online. But seeing how all consoles are having online this generation, it'd be a bit useless.
    Sure, it could change, but why should it?
