But again, the audio output of television (SD or HD) are quite bad.

Use this with your console and these speakers and you will get a pretty darn good audio experience.
That first device is taking analog stereo as the input, so wouldn't it be a waste to hook it up to a 5.1 speaker system? I know that Logitech is advertising that device as a console 5.1 surround sound adapter, but at best you'd still only be hearing stereo.

You might as well just get a pair of these, they come with their own adapter for consoles (atleast mine did, but that website seems to hint otherwise), and while they don't live up to the speaker system Jyuu posted, this small set of speakers is still awesome enough that you'll chop your TV speakers in half. They also pump MUCH louder than you'd think.

I know that it still doesn't compare to a massive home cinema system, but that would be overkill for video games anyway. For the cheap price, I don't think these can be beaten.

Aye, the X-230 is quite good. You are right about the stereo part, but having audio pouring out from six different sources sounds much better.

I knew they're planning to do this again, that's why I sold my Wii after I got bored with my Zelda and before Wii price go down, Mwahahah, screw you nintendo, I'm saving my money to get either Xbox360 or PS3 (if MGS4 come out first), and maybe I will buy Wii later when they reduce the price.
