What system will you most likely purchase first? Why? Worries for the system? Specific games, perhaps?

Both.
<--- True gamer.
I prefer the Playstation 3, not only because of the games ( Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Vry, Final Fantasy, etc) , but Sony has the best Hardware, the new (Wi)X-box 360 will go on sale long time before the Playstation 3 , so Sony has the Advantage of the better hardware, of course, everybody will buy the new X-box , but the Playstation will be better, just look now, the Playstation 2 doesn't have such a good graphic like the X-box (<- was released later).
But the Xbox 360, by an article in TIME, shows that it will become the hub of your entertainment system. Every digital entertainment component that you own will be transferrable through your Xbox 360, including Mp3's, Internet, and other features.
I'm not supporting Xbox 360, just because I will mostly likely end up purchasing a PS3, but here are some issues that need to be worked out.
1) SONY desperately needs an online gaming system similar to Xbox LIVE, but at a lower cost.
2) More signature features unique to the system
3) Hardrive space where Mp3's, movies, and episodes can be saved and burned
4) The versatility of the Xbox in terms of modding capabilities and the ability to be transformed and tweaked in every imaginable way (like the Xbox).
But the most important is the game, who console which will sopport with best game. PS2 win against other kompetitor because they support with many game even its technology is the oldest
actually, according to microsoft, the x-box 360 will actually be more like a console than a PC this time around. This means that it wont be as easy to mod as it's predecessor, but we wont know until its actually out and has been messed with.
as for which system i will buy, im planning on the new nintendo system and maybe the ps3 if there are some good games for it. i mean, the game cube is probably the best designed system outta the 3 (metroid prime came out pretty close to halo and it looked 3x better), the only thing missing on the cube are more adult oriented games like metal gear (which has been released btw) and GTA, it also didnt help that it looked like a kid's system too in the initial release. the latest installment of the zelda series looks so good too, better than anything ive seen for the ps2 or x-box.
as for the x-box 360, its gonna burn a huge hole in microsoft's pocket. i do not think this system will be nearly as semi-successful as x-box was (which i am giving too much credit to because in other countries the x-box did not do good). the only thing x-box was good for is for halo, some sports games (wheee....), and thats like it. sure you can mod the hell outta it, but it wont make the game selection any better. not even to mention that the x-box 360 is going to be not completely backwards compatable with older games (aka, only halo compatable, cause lets face it, it was the only game that sold the system...and maybe fable/kotor helped some too but not as much). ps3 will be completely backwards compatable outta the box and it just looks cooler than the 360.
i personally think that the nintendo will win this generation with the ps3 comin in a close second and the x-box 360 pulling a dreamcast...you may ask me what is a dreamcast....my answer to you is exactly. x-box 360 will be hot for about a year and then the competition's systems will come out on the market which leads the 360 to the way of the bargain bin.
flame away

this logic is too simple. The Dreamcast was released first, but the first generation playstation 2 games lost in every apect.Quote:

And please donīt hype about "Cell" and other specs, its still too early and theoretical, the NexGen is multicore, and it will be an enormous challenge to suck out their potential nontheless microsoft really improved and works with a alot of japanese studios.
(Iīm neither a sony nor microsoft fanboy.
They're both good. Even though I might just buy the ps3... I'm too poor to get both XD
Well, though I have only a ps2 at the moment, I prefer not to bond myself to a system solely on company or hardware. I'm going to wait for some games to come out and make a decision based on what I want to play.
