Thread: So much for Virtua Fighter being THE fighting game for the Japs.

VF is defiantly my favorite. Always has been since I first layed a kick to my buddy's head on his Saturn. I'm pretty much the only person I know in my area that likes it though. Everyone else seems to play DOA or Soul Caliber. Hell, I can barely find a Tekken player!

I guess the question is does this really bother Sega and AM2 that much? Arcade machines are pretty big business from what I understand.

Please stop complaining about lack of online... VF5 CANT be played on line because with the specifics of the frame rate animations any bit of latency would destroy the balance of the game. Any truly hardcore VF player whos memorized all the frames for the attacks and such would know that without that VF is barely playable and wouldnt make for a fun online experience.

Any hardcore VF player would be camping in Akihabara playing VF5 in the arcades night and day.

i have DoA4 and im really happy with it, Virtua Fighter has been around for a long time. been playing it since it was on Sega Saturn lol.

DoA 4 is horrible. Downright atrocious.

People who say they like 1.6 over Source are right. Source is stupidly random and arcadey.

haven't played VF since Saturn. When I finally find a copy at blockbuster maybe i'll rent it with some friends

i bought it, it's pretty awesome, i really like the character customization, and the visuals are tight, it's my first VF though, and i'm a little surprised about the lack of story, somthing i kinda like with tekken, and it is a little annoying that on startup it always asks if you want to load your saved game instead of autoloading it, but the gameplay is tight and balanced, and has a good pace, reversals are so rewarding in that game as well.
