Whats to be ashamed of? The mainline Pokemon games have been consistently of the highest quality in terms of value, graphics, gameplay, replay value, and presentation. A true gamer of any age can appreciate that.
I like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

I don't think all the Pokemon games are for the same generation. I mean, presumably people around my age (19) grew up with Red and Blue, to some extent Yellow. But after a while of the same you can't really get into it. But later generations can get into Ruby and Sapphire, Pearl and Diamond etc and enjoy them like we did the old ones.
Like any old schooler I would say Red and Blue were the best, the Pokemon were original and unique, now the Pokemon are pretty bland and boring, design wise pretty random as well, I'm not intrigued like I used to be...it's kinda sad growing up =\
Point taken. Gold and Silver were the best IMHO, the cheats (Missingno code anyone, 199 any item anyone) made Red and Blue classic though. I havent seen any of the new pokemon, but from the past new ones, its clear that they may be weird now but they can definitely grow on you.

I never had Red OR Blue, but I was of their generation - I got my GBA just before Yellow was released. ^_^ Mmm~ I still think that was among the best - Gold and Silver (and Crystal too) were excellent because they incorporated old AND new for the first time - the new Pokemon were interesting and cool, and the new world was complex yet familiar, in a way.
Ruby and Sapphire... it was probably because they were set in a new world with entirely different Pokemon (at least G&S added onto the 150 without replacing) that made them not as good. I bought Fire Red, which was actually pretty good - it wasn't Red, but it was more familiar and I liked that. Here's hoping Diamond and Pearl will be a kind of Gold and Silver~

Yeah, I didn't like the new ones because they basically took out all the pokemon with any character and replaced them with either lookalikes or lame variants. Then again, I'm prone to not like new pokemon games just because of nostalgia, but I wanna give pearl and diamond a go.
CURRENTLY iTS ZELDA: TWiLiGHT PRiNCESS
i HiGHLY RECOMMEND THiS GAME
I agreed with elcura.
What about riviera???It's pretty unique but it's so hard damn.
hey, you play the role of a farmer and play his daily life. if that's no rpg then what! just because you don't have to save the world and bash monsters...well, i'd definetly say it IS rpg.
and @ 3955elits: riviera rulz but it ain't hard if you level up enough - which i didn't, i beat the final boss with my last non-einherjar-weapon and 1 member dead, the others barely alive =)
Probably Disgaea (Even though it's an SRPG)
You gotta love the insane leveling up system in it.
