Sonic has jumped the shark
Who here agrees that the entire Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has jumped the shark? If so, list the best reason you can think of for why. Here're some of my reasons:
4kids' voice acting is a gimme
Shadow the Hedgehog: Shadow does not need vehicles! He's the fastest thing alive! (The car steams me up the most)
Sonic the Hedgehog for the X-Box 360
If you agree that Sonic has jumped the shark, list your best reasons for why. Heck, if you have only a few to list, go ahead and list all of them. I'm not listing all of them because there are quite a lot on my list.

What exactly do you mean with "jumped the shark"?
-
Expresion used for when they do something beyond incredibly stupid to attempt to keep the series going.

i wouldn't really say that though i think that the anime series is pretty bad. though i don't get your point about sonic being on x-box. plus maybe shadow uses vehicles when he doesn't feel like running all the time.

Sonic Rush is still pretty good. And heck, Sonic & The Secret Rings for the Wii is looking a lot better than Sonic X360/PS3 (though that's not really difficult, given the shittyness of that title).

Sonic hasn't jumped the Shark, it's just the creators aren't really good at making an enjoyable Sonic game. Sonic Rush was the latest, greatest Sonic hmm, I wonder why? Because it goes back to it's roots a lot more and relives what made Sonic so great in the first place. Most 3D Sonic games you couldn't run 5 seconds without an obstacle or enemy getting in your way...
Meh, I could rant and rave so much more but I'll leave it at that.

Well, my opinions may not be too important, and, yes, Sonic Rush was awesome, but if you want a guy who's a super pissed-off fan of Sonic, listen to this:

Heck, watch all of this guy's stuff. He has all kinds of complaints about recent Sonic releases. Here's a funny Shadow the Hedgehog spoof (I should have mentioned the overuse of 'damn'):

sonic fails in 3D... hes not nearly as versatile as Mario and is way to limited in his abilities to make a sensible game... and Shadow fails miserably... wtf is the point of a motorcycle when you can run faster than any bike out there... stupid stupid stupid.
I like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

Sonic can be done in 3D without sucking. When Sonic Adventure came out did anyone have problems with it? It just didn't age well, is all! Most of the Sonic titles on the GBA are awesome, but they're out-sourced, I believe. Maybe it's time Sega disbanded Sonic Team and developed themselves. I think they've gotten less creative at Sonic Team because anything they make sells (As long as they "spice it up" a bit with every addition). Be it crap, or gold. Maybe it's more a matter of 2D gaming being more fun in general.

mmm... then shouldn't pokemon be included in this topic too?
To keep a series going definitly cost cheaper than to develope a new game...
