I don't want a PS3 now, but I'm sure I will eventually when I see good games out for the system - the reason I bought a PS2 was for the RPGs (like Final Fantasy). I don't want one out of brand loyalty - if anything I'm a Nintendo fangirl, and I want a Wii for the awesome games that I've heard of (and there are a lot) - but because I'm sure there will be good games soon.

As for why don't I want a 360? Actually, hearing about the games kinda makes me want one. I'll admit I'm a little biased without reason on the whole Microsoft thing, but... I can't stand the controller. It feels as awkward as the NES one in a different way. Also, the original X-Box had very few games that appealed to me, and I'm not sure the 360 is any different - but who knows, maybe it will be.

Graphics are nice and all, but a game with good graphics and no plot, no gameplay, and no... fun is just images. As long as the graphics are decent for the system, I'm happy (that is, no N64-worthy graphics. I'll never get those standing-through-a-wall images out of my head).

wow DE youre the first girl who ive ever heard say they wanted a 360. its basically marketed to middle american teenage guys with two things on their minds, guns and football, and the occasional rat of the urban sprawl who wants to get their basketball on their tv.

    *shock*

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

Meh, I've heard enough good things about the Halo games to appreciate that name, not to mention the fact that my cousin (female) has an X-box... but RPGs aren't the only kinds of games I play. I like FPSs; I'm just really bad at them. Strategy games, too. Some of those games for the 360 look interesting, though.

    *is just a little unusual...*

I'm getting a wii and probably not getting a PS3 until/unless the PS4 comes out. I'm just now getting a PS2 from somebody who's buying a PS3. The reason is simply financial. I'm one of those people who thinks that good graphics don't make a good game.

You're right; they don't. I've always been taught to wait-until-the-price-goes-down (I didn't get a PS2 until two years ago...) and so there's no way I'd consider getting anything, not even the relatively inexpensive Wii, for a few months - or even years, if I could wait. Sure, the games are great, but they'll be just as great then as they are now (unless you're into online gaming).

...And it's hard to deny that the PS3 is... a little expensive. =P

    talking about expensive,It's already 10million with my currency,change it in us$ then it'll be 1000 us$.
as for games,I agreed with mystic guard, good graphic doesn't always make a good game and we don't need a good graphic to make a good game look at FF VII,chrono cross, xenogears. I'm still playing it nowadays in my PS.
and for sports, some of my friends bought it just to play winning eleven and gran turismo.

    So basically...

Xbox360 for the shooters (i.e. Halo 3 and Gears of War)
Nintendo Wii for originality and exclusive titles
PS3 for exclusive titles, raw pwr, sexy graphics, fanboyism, and fapping to FFXIII on HD.

I read in a news article yesterday that Sony arn't completely sure that the PS3 wont fail, seeing how so far its sold less than half the amount that the Wii has.
And I know at my school that the PS3 isn't something people are planing to get. I can think of at least 9 or 10 people of the top of my head who have already pre-ordered a Wii. I know I want a Wii. Though I will be careful not to break my telly...
I don't see whats so great about the PS3 that makes it so darn expensive. It has good graphics, but these wont really be taken full advatage of unless you had a HD telly. And while graphics are good and nice to have, they arn't that important.
I must admit I haven't seen the list of games for the PS3 but I know that things like FF wont lure me in.
Well thats my 'quick-before-work' view done.

Blu-Ray, is what makes the PS3 expensive.
