Thread: Recommend me some games worth playing.

On ANY platform.

I got tired of all the PS3/Wii games already, so these consoles are out of the way.

Gears of War
Chrono Trigger
Fire Emblem
Devil May Cry 3
Soul Caliber 3
FFX
Star Ocean (SNES)
Civilization (all of them)

There's like a ton of games I could recommend. Are you talking new games specifically? Which genre do you enjoy most?

Played Chrono Tigger way too many times.
Played Fire Emblem and never liked it that much.
DMC 3 got boring after a couple of hours.
Played and beat FFX in less than a week and it remains the only FF I dislike after VIII
Played Star Ocean years ago and never really liked it.
I tried to play Civilization IV again last week and it bored so much that I spent the following five hours playing Supreme Commander to get rid of every thought of Civilization that remained in my mind.


I currently have Oblivion, NWN 2, Quake 4, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft, Supreme Commander, Cellfactor, Roboblitz, all of Valve's games, and SW KOTOR installed on my PC and I am tired of them.
There's SSBM in the Game Cube, Guitar Hero 2 in the PS2, Zelda TP in the Wii, Gears of War in the 360 and Resistance in the PS3 but I somehow got tired of most console games I have.

go get Company of Heroes.

or get a DS... that opens up a whole new library of things to play and kill time with...

The DS was built for the

A) eaisly ammused and

B) ppl with short attention spans

I played Company of Heroes, which is also my pick for PC GOTY.

I have two DS and I got tired of all the games I have on it, some of which are Meteos, Kirby Canvas Curse, Brain Age, Elite Beat Agents, Yoshi's Island 1 and 2, etc

yeah id say if u got one already, and since it seems like u have alot of money from what you say that you have so far...

ff III
asphalt 2(i think its beetter than the need for speed)
feel the magic, love rabbits(its the part 2)
castlevania the first one( and the second one comming out december 5th i think)
jump superstar part 1 and 2
and the eyeshield 21 game, but i forgot what they called it

doesnt seem like u'll want to play fighting games cause they get really boring quick if u just play by urself so

JSS was so incredibly overrated. I remember eargerly waiting for it to be mailed to me (from Play-Asia) and I was already disgusted after two hours of play.
I am certainly not a manga/anime fan and really fail to see how it's a good game.


Okami is a good game, but the graphics are sickening and I was totally disgusted.


Lumines (yes, I can spell it right) is a really fun game, but I got to the maximum score of 999 999 way too easily and Lumines 2 doesn't offer enough new features.



What I want to play is something that will blow me away much like when I played Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes or Guitar Hero for the first time.

I picked up Splinter Cell Double Agent the other day and found out that it isn't as great as Chaos Theory and now it's totally unplayable on my 8800GTX due to crap drivers.

have you played Disgaea??? dust off your ps2 if you havent (or not since the PS3 is Back-Compat) and play that... or any of the NIS America games... all of them kick ass and all of them are guaranteed to be massive time-sucks while still being obscenely fun.

the graphics suck tho. i reccomend Disgaea or Disgaea 2. Makai Kingdom is awesome as well but Phantom Brave is a good alternative ... the only one i havent played is La Pucelle: Tactics so i cant tell you how awesome it is from personal experience.
