"Besides, while Resident Evil 4 looks incredible on the PS2, it doesn't look quite as good as on the GameCube, where it has richer colors, sharper-looking environments, and nicer lighting effects. Larger foes also look better on the GameCube (while smaller foes melt away faster when killed), and the earlier version's loading times are also shorter. Pauses during the interactive cutscenes are also longer by an instant on the PS2, making the interactivity feel a bit less seamless. So, since the underlying gameplay is exactly the same, the slightly but noticeably better-looking GameCube original ultimately still has the edge."

I don't want to turn it into another "PS3's graphics cannot match that of the 360" thread, but the hardware limitations are there. This is a fact. Whatever amount of tricks the developers use won't eliminate the GPU bottleneck.

fine fine fine whatever you win. meanwhile i think FFIII will be the premier handheld RPG until Diamond/Pearl is released next February...i dont really see anything comprable on the PSP until Disgaea comes out but then again Square is being fickle with who they choose to support lately. i like the touch controls on this version although everytime i pick it up and play i find myself wondering what it was like on SNES... i guess thats what they mean when they say it shows its age.

.. damnit i didnt even want to reply to this again...

ehh...the fact that the gamecube came a year after the ps2 also makes a big dif. Of course it wouldnt be as nice, but anyway FFIII is freakin hard, or more like tedious cause the monsters are stupid strong in the begining...oh yeah, i forgot which magazine and which website i saw it on, but i read that the GBA ffV was the best FF game there is so far. I was amazed when i read that

Well, I just got the game, and its graphics are indeed great. I would say they're much better than FF7s graphics, but not as great as FF9's, so they're in between. The fmv at the beginning looked great though, really nice stuff there.

So far, I got to this one cave and am owning some undead (after visiting the castle). They all say the game is hard and requires you to grind so...I'm grinding while looking for hidden passages and chests, which tend to pop up in some pretty random spots. Can't get over the graphics though, first time I see such great stuff on a hand held (no I never actually played a PSP before). Good game, I give it an 8.9 so far. This can rise or fall depending.

^Me after watching Spirited Away, because I discovered the best movie ever!
Random but good advice: Play Metal Slug.

I think the fact they could port RE4 onto the PS2 (which was more then acceptable) which is a lesser machine is more then impressive, not only that, but the amount of extra content they could add (which I appreciated more then slightly better graphics).

It IS still early PS3, early generation games never look as good as later generation games, so give it a while.

because youve been living under a batholith for the last nine months, they announced this game at E3 05 i think - so you have no excuses anyway. but if you have a DS go get it. the price is a little steep at $40 but its gonna suck away at least 50 hours of your life easy and its a bit of a hard ass game. ive spent half the game ata least in fear of being killed in two hits by the regular enemies not counting the bosses... so go get your masochism on, you know you want the pain and frustration
