Haha...it's already sold out at all the local Toys 'R' Us locations.

It's not like I'd buy one though...it's overpriced, my TV sucks, and the disk format will lose out in the end to HD-DVD.

dont forget that the commercials for it are demonic

I was watching some show and they were interviewing people who had been waiting outside stores for about 6-9 days just trying to get one so that they could sell it on ebay for $1,000. Bah...

I think i'll wait till the price goes down.

I'm sure a couple moth the price will lowered so we just wait until the is come

About HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Disc.
While the Blu-Ray Disc can hold much more data than the HD-DVD, the current movies look better on HD-DVD due to the fact that they use H.264 for the latter and the older, uglier MPEG-2 for the BD. Moreover, with the advent of procedural texturing, having lots of space for games is becoming irrelevant. With proper coding and technology, you can easily fit a huge game with lots of audio and textures and maps onto a STANDARD DVD. Gears of War shows us that.
Right now, it's HD-DVD that's winning.

About the PS3 and its games.
Games on the PS3 look worse than their Xbox 360 counterparts. If you look at Ridge Racer 6 on the 360 and Ridge Racer 7 (THE SEQUEL) on the PS3, RR6 looks a lot better due to the fact that the Xenos is more powerful than the RSX. Developers have also confirmed that many CPU-intensive games like Assassin's Creed (for the crowd AI) will be better on the 360 because while the Cell is potentially better, it can't be easily fully utilized as the Xenon. It's like driving a Mini and a BMW on a long, winded road. Why have a faster car when it can't handle as well?

The Xbox 360 is a very solid console that has proven what it can do. Games are going to be multi-platform as from now on. They may initially be timed exclusives, but they will end up being on various consoles. Take a look at MGS4. When it will be done, it will have costed millions of dollars to make and it will be released when there may be about 800 thousand PS3 units worldwide. Considering that not every PS3 owner will buy the game, how will Kojima recover the investment and get proft? By going on the Xbox 360 too. It may not be at launch, but give it some months and MGS4 WILL be on the 360.

So here's my point:
Why wait to get the PS3 when you can get a 360 right now?

that's right, I don't care, what console I'm playing with as long as I can play the games I really really want, assuming that the game developer is still the same in another console.

just look at MGS twin snake, they expanded it to gamecube, they were tyring to reach people that used to play gamecube games only.

so it all depends on what games (or genre) you really want to play, at least for me.

If you tell me that theres a chance that Final Fantasy 13 will be in the 360, I will go out and buy the 360 right now

i hate to admit it but i agree wth Talamare... some games are just exclusive to PS and you wont find them anywhere, im not one of those people who buy a system because its cheaper and has similar games to what i want. if i want a game i get it no the next best thing. plus you can tout the specs all you want but im no fan of FPS (they give me headaches) or GTA clones (why not just buy GTA and be done with it) which is like the vast majority of 360 games... the only ones that remotely interest me for the 360 that are coming out are Lost Planet and Gears of War. Everything else is just boring or ported sports crap.

anyways i preoder nothing and i hate M$... ill be getting my PS3 in 2007 when all the bugs are worked out and theres a truly revolutionary game or two to make the cost easier to swallow...

... but ill never go to M$...
