Elcura pretty much said it, i hate games where people can just stomp on the controller and win. Virtua Fighter takes SKILL. im not a big fan of all the practice needed to become good in it but i stick with Sarah and Pai and i do pretty well for myself.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

I really don't care much for a game at all when the character's in the game have no uniqueness whatsoever along with NO character developement throughtout the years. We're in 2006 and we're still looking at the same ninja outfit we seen in 95 for fuck's sake.

but then again we have yet to see Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur 4.
Ah Virtua Fighter...now that is a hard game. I've only dabbled in it here and there because I can never find anyone who'll continuously play with me and improve. I play Pai and Aoi though I can't say I'm very good with either of them because I've never really played against any good competition. Not to mention that the VF scene in the States is minimal at best. There are really no great VF players here. They're all in Japan. I'll get VF5 whenever I get a PS3 though I don't plan on getting one until SC4 or Tekken 6 comes around. I'm a much bigger fan of Namco's fighters.

On another note: Who here has played Melty Blood? My friend just had the game imported from Japan recently and we've been going at it every weekend since. It's a lot of fun if not somewhat simplistic. Kind of like a dumbed down Guilty Gear. Worth checking out for sure though.

Melty Blood owns, although I prefer playing Immaterial and Missing power (check out IaMP on youtube). Such a fun game.

No, we can appreciate it. We just find other games better and more fun to play. Not every one enjoys the same style of fighting. Like me, I much prefer 3D fighters to 2D. Now it's not that I don't appreciate 2D fighters, hell I love Melty Blood, but I just enjoy having that step ability that only 3D fighters offer. It adds more to the game IMO.
