Maybe the main character needs some glasses(even though it's not first person).

Haha, Gothic 3 is officially the FIRST game I know that uses 2GB (2048MB) of RAM. Yes, the application just maxed out the maximum amount of memory that a 32-bit version of Windows XP can allocate to a program.
    That's just nuts.

A LOT deeper than Oblivion. So many skills to learn and so many jobs you can do. It's like Gothic 2 x100000. My only complaints about the game is the crappy voice acting and fighting system. The fighting is good, but it doesn't feel like you are doing any damage whereas in Oblivion, the physics engine was really good.

I watched a friend of mine play the game. The combat looked boring and repetitive, and the main character swings his sword really slow in very small arcs.

The game's engine is coded extremely badly. The game does not look very good even at the highest settings (to me anyway), and the game really doesn't seem to be doing anything which justifies how much slowdown and stuttering were present.

Also, the menus are completely half-arsed, everything is adjusted with sliders even when much simpler ways would have sufficed, which is especially apparent in the display settings (with resolution, colour depth and refresh rate ALL being controlled by a SINGLE slider, with each "notch" being a different combination of the three).

After watching it for about 15 minutes, I decided the game wasn't worth my time. I'm not in the mood for playing something that goes out of its way to show me how poorly it was made. The role-playing elements of the game might be great but I guess I'll never know, because I have higher standards these days than I used to when it comes to games.

The menus are great. It was Oblivion that was badly made due to the fact that it was also made for the 360.

Haha, that's after 2 hours of Gothic 3:

Let it be known that my hating of this game might also be slightly influenced by the fact that my friend's fiancee did nothing but yell at him while we were trying it out, because she has this THING about wanting to play new games before we do. If it's not installed on her computer first, she has a bit of a hissy-fit.

    Women can be annoying.
