How can Nintendo justify the price of the Wii?
At $250 for the pack and $60 for an extra controller, it sums up to $310.
With $340, you can get an Xbox 360 core pack and an extra wired controller.
If they are right and that it's not a rumor, the 360 pro pack and a wireless controller would cost $350.
So how can Nintendo justify the price of the Wii?
On a pure technical point of view, the Wii contains age-old hardware that compares to the first Xbox.
The Xenos is as powerful as a 1900XT while the Hollywood compares to the X1600 plain.
Their CPU aren't even close with the 360 having a 3.2GHz tri-cored PowerPC processor and the Wii has a single core <1GHz PowerPC CPU.
20GB vs 512MB of storage space.
720p/1080i vs 480p
And much more stuff.
The Wii is the more expensive one AND hasn't proved itself yet while the 360 has proved itself to be an excellent console with many great exclusives.
I foresee the 360 winning the North American region and the Wii winning in Japan and a 40-35-25 (360, Wii, PS3 respectively) in Europe.
