Thread: best RPG

whats the best rpg to you excluding FF7 cuz people od on it and they bandwagon it cuz its famous..

i cant add Seiken Densetsu and Chrono Trigger to the Poll so just measure their votes yourselves... when i say people bandwagon FFVII i mean it ... people will just vote for it cuz they heard or read that it was the "best" RPG ever... and that makes for incorrect poll responses cuz people dont wanna be seen as the newb who never played it or whatnot and it gets really complecated AND I DONT FEEL LIKE DEALING WITH IT

(ironically and hypocritically im actually playing it for the first time now... and im not all the wowed i must say... its a little addiciting tho but then again i have a mild case of OCD so ... yeah...)

Out of the ones listed I have to go with FFX. But its really hard to chose the best RPG. They all have differnt aspects that make them better and worse than the others.

Agreed. Final Fantasy X is a really good RPG. Blitzball was sweet, loved that minigame, played it for hours and hours. The graphics were great and I enjoyed the storyline. Dude, Spira was such a great place to set the game and those cutscenes were freakin' sweet.

FFX was good, no, great, BUT, Xenosaga in my opinon is better. FFX was just over cliched before I even got the game. I picked it up and got totally bored with it after 20 hours. Even though through a summer of boredom i got up to 115 hours, that's beside the point.

Xenosaga was just SOO much better to me. I haven't played the second one yet, but Dur Wille Zur Macht was WAY better than FFX for reasons I can't esplain, I don't know why I like it better, I just do.

Chrono Trigger was great, Chrono Cross was well... not my favourite..

The best RPG I have played so far would have to be... (for originality) Baten Kaitos: The Eternal Wing and the Lost Ocean. Good game if you feel comfortable with a card type battle system. In my opinion card based battle systems are more fun due to the fact that any battle has a more random feel. Instead of where in some RPGs you just select the same moves over and over again just to get to the boss.

Chrono Trigger is the other best RPG with Final Fantasy VI
no better RPG ever made like them

Dragon Quest VII, Valkyrie Profile, Chrono Trigger, since you have some strategy RPGs listed up there... i'll include Front Mission 3 and Final Fantasy Tactics.

Chrono Trigger was a bench mark for some of the great RPG's that followed. As was FFVI. As for the best, all have great and not-so great qulaities. One RPG that I just enjoyed playing was Brave Fencer Musashi. That game was just a kick to play.
