I play guild wars, I play for free, I don't have to wait ages 'cos the servers are too bogged down with traffic, I get regular content updates,.........................I win.

Having said that, I may try out WoW at some point, I just recently tried out FF11 and it wasn't worth paying monthly for.
I'll probably try out warcraft next academic year though, 'cos I won't be able to play online that much over the summer.

you play Guild wars? that is probably the worst MMO ever created. the whole everything is an instance. the whole you have to play the story to proceed into the game. MMO's arent supposed to revolve around story, the stories are something to make the game more interesting. Level cap at 20? thats so bad. and the PVP system isnt that great either. I can say this because i played the game before wow and i just got bored because playing the story is so dumb, so no, you dont win

I have played Guild Wars before WoW too, and Guild Wars wasn't much of a challenge...it's easy to get to 20, easier than getting to 20 in WoW. And the level cap in WoW is 60.

WoW is a great game, shame that the monthly fee is so high...if it was only 5-10 bucks then it would be a great deal. It would probably increase subscription too...I know a lot of people that are driven away from WoW cause of it's high monthly cost.

I played WoW for a few month (using the account of my ex).
I just love this game but after breaking up i've no account anymore *cry*
But I think I'll buy the game when the add-on comes out... maybe... you become obsessed with the game so easily...

Get to know people who are older than 15 years old please.

Seriously, though. If you even work 15 h/week at minimum wage, you'll have no difficulty paying a monthly ammount for a game like this. Kids who only get money from their parents will obviously find it difficult to choose between "alot of candy at the store or a month on wow... hmm hmm hmm... what to choose..."

That being said, I think MMORPGs suck and are all way too similar to each other.

I'm waiting for MMORTSs to become big. À la Shattered Galaxy.

You're new here? And you want to be able to spot a retard? Anybody who posts something this stupid can only be retarded:

or maybe those kids who get a set allowance would rather go out to movies with friends rather than pay for a game? eh?

And yeah, i also dont play WoW becuase of the cost. Especially when there are a ton of free MMORPG's out in the world anyway.

Oh and anyway, anyone play Silk Road? THis guy said it was like a beter graphics version of WoW and pretty fun too, but I want someone else to verify this before I spend a gazillion hours downloading it from bittorent.

WoW was great before they added instanced pvp. Now it is crap. I am waiting for Warhammer online. That will be the game that WoW could have been.

Playing games like WoW, especially Wow is addictive.

and they make supposedly over $1 billion a year

    $14 x 6 million/month=84 million a monthx 12 months= $1 billion

minus $4 for maintainence costs with costs rising per addtional player

    $4 x 6 x 12= $288 million costs of maintaining + additions (est)

In the end it doesn't matter they get a few hundred million yearly
And the boxes with the games also give them more $$$ I like I like

this site was way...off, I like their numbers though that is how much blizzard would get assuming that there are 5 million over the lifetime, which is off.

    sorry about messyness
