    Default Red Steel

    Red Steel anyone?

i searched for it but couldn't find anything on the forum, or maybe it just died?

Well i watched the E3 preview, (if you haven't hope over to youtube and watch one of the many previews of this game
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLuAO...ch=red%20steel )
    [gota love the guy's accent]

and i thought that it was pretty cool, it utilised the controller of the Wii pretty well, and being a big fan of shoot'em up arcade games i just can't wait until it comes out,

besides the fact that i think the plot is going to be absolutly crap, i'm really looking forward to this game.

One problem i have with the game is the movement of the camera and the scrolling speed, is it just me or does it seem very....slow? i hope ubisoft allows players to adjust this, because i think it'll be very annoying if you get to a part of the game where you are shot at yet you can't see anything and moving the camera is slow.

also another quesiton, in the preview i have linked above, it shows a guy holding the Wii controller wired...(not to the movement section) but to the what seems like the actual console....i find this troubling, but not surprising because i would believe that a controller like this is very sophisticated

    discussions anyone?

Looks OK so far. I'd like to try it out myself.

Umm, whole point of Wii controller is that it is wireless. So, the controller was probably linked/hooked up to console for security purposes and to prevent people from stealing it. After all, Nintendo is banking on Wii's innovative features to offset its weak graphics/processing powers. So, they cant afford to have rival companies steal their idea and implement it into their own consoles, though Sony kind of already did that when they added their own motion sensor things to their new PS3 controller. !!DIE SONY DIE!!

    That game will suck.
    Why?
It controls just like the standard console fps game, but worse at times.

ummm, exactly how do you know that? The wii is a truly new console, so I dont think anyone should make assumptions like that w/o any first hand experience. Besides, saying that Red Steel will control just like a standard console fps game is ridiculous, noting how Wii is a remote and all. Also, yeah, i heard how the wii controller is SUPER sensitive and also how the camera scrolling speed was pretty slow. But that doesnt mean that teh final version of Red Steel will also be like that. I mean who knows, maybe the Wii will have like a built in feature whihc will allow one to change controller sensitivity/camera scrolling speed. Nintendo is trying to grab gamers from a wide spectrum of ages and backgrounds, so they will probably allow super gamers to have a super sensitive controller, while little hyper kids and those with Parkinsons can have a super....unsensitive one.

The controls probably still need some tweaking. I hope they fix that up before the release. Otherwise, it's looking quite interesting and I might get it. Let's just hope this game serves more as an example than just one FPS game like this. I doubt Red Steel will be a great game, I just hope it shows that the Wiimote can work nice for FPS games, so other developpers make games for it too.

Oh come on, it's just Virtua Cop except that it's you who controls the movement. They should have used the centered crosshair aiming solution.

at first i thought it was stupid, then i thought it was cool during e3, now i think it is stupid i think nintendo should focus on its strong handheld market and become another sega to consoles

red steel is later in development and still looks crappy the wii as a new system is weak and its only selling point is the classic games that will be playable

    o god, are u serious!?!??!

First of all, how the hell do you know that red steel is crappy? NIntendo decided to take a risk and forsook super high quality graphics for an innovative controller, whihc would give more precision/aiming, which in turn will allow NIntendo to make some crazy AI, becuase gamers wont have such hard time aiming with their two analog sticks anymore. And besides, the graphics arent that bad, and the remote's sensitivity can easily be tweeked. So dont diss the game until it actually comes out.

But undoubtedly, your most retarded comment came when you said that the Wii's only selling point is that classic games will be playable.
..... Are you blind??! Have you not seen the hype for Zelda:TP/Super Mario Galaxy/SSBB/Metroid Prime??? Have you not noticed the fact that the new SSBB video was one of the most popular videos of E3? Have you not seen the huge lines of people waiting to play Wii's games @E3?
