Graphical power only possible on the PC.

Sorry console fanboys, it looks like the PC is still far ahead.

At first that image looked really good, almost real. But if you look closely, you'll notice that in some places the texture doesn't look quite right (mostly on the leaves and the fallen tree trunk in the fore ground).

But yes you are right Jyuu, that is much better quality than that of current gen consoles including Xbox 360(although the halo 3 teaser trailer looks damn sweet), but alas I shall not be able to see such quality for a long time, not with my crappy GeForce 6600 and 1 gig of RAM.

EDIT: Lets hope the gameplay is nothing like Farcry, 'cos frankly we don't need another boring run of the mill FPS.

I have to admit, the leaves on those plants look almost convincing.

fuck man if the new socom on the ps3 has anything near those type of graphics i will be one happy person.

The PS3 is a weak console. There are cheap video cards out there that outperform the RSX. >.>

I bet you need some high-end PC in order to be able to play the game fluently with those graphics... And those cost a shitload of money, don't they?

well for spending $2500 on a machine to play a game, it's only reasonable to expect something that looks better. Too bad that game is the only one of its kind, everything else is just slowly moving to the unreal 3 engine.

the cryengine has always been known for their forest enviorments, indoors tho, nothing special




I wouldn't say the PC is THAT far ahead... yet

It's far ahead the Xbox360. Just look at Oblivion and the lush forests on the 360 and the massive framerate dips. 20-30 frames per second. PC ARE much far ahead.
Do I need to remind you that a 7800GTX 512MB is better than the RSX and the 1900XTX is more powerful than the 360's GPU?
