This confirms it; No one loves Sonic the Hedgehog more than the French.

They created the "Sonic Underground" series, persuaded the Japanese to create an extra season of the "Sonic X" anime, originally just for them, created their own Sonic the Hedgehog comics series, and now some fan is trying to create his own 3D Sonic game as a hobby.
I wish him luck with that and I hope Sega doesn't start bitching like Square-enix did over that fan-made "Chrono Trigger" project way back when.

Lots of people create Sonic Fangames... It's nothing new. I have an account on a Sonic Fangame community, which I check to see whats happening with the games. That one has been posted on there, and there's a lot of good word about it, although, no demos are available yet.

But seriously, you're overreacting if you think "Sonic Team must be on guard". It's barely even started yet, he's done some 3d models, some collisions and stuff like that, basic moves. But he still has a long way to go even before a 1st level is complete. It's impressive, but it's not Sonic Team impressive.

I find it ironic that Sonic Team has yet to release an impressive 3D Sonic game. Sonic Heroes had potential, but they completley dropped the ball with that one.
Here's hoping the new Sonic the Hedgehog game for the X-box 360 is a genuine return to form that all other 3D Sonic games just couldn't grasp.
