Thread: The wait is over! (FF related.)

Finally! The legal copies of FFVII: Advent Children are being released to the US on April 25! And the US version of FFXII is being released August 1st, but I can wait a few months. Who else is excited for this? I believe Square deserves a bunch of credit for it's work...Kingdom Hearts II is coming out as well as the FF series! (I'm not getting it, but hey, props for Square!) Everyone aplaud Square! FFXII is coming!

I'm buying the FF VII: Advent Children dvd, but I don't know if I want to even bother with FF XII. From what I saw and played of the demo, I'm not really excited about it.

Sucks to be you. I'm getting mine at HMV or at EB Games tomorrow (April 21st) at noon.

IGN reports that the dubs are great. Moreover, the DVD contains Jap audio with English subtitles.
But oh sure, you must loooooove listening to a fucking language that you don't even understand.

I'm buying it because I want to own the dvd, with all its special features and such.

pah i've already watched it twice and a 3rd time just watching the battle scenes cause they're just awesome a long time ago. FF7:AC has so many great moments in it but i won't ruin it. I do't mind watching it with subtitles at all it has no effect and generally dubbing is bad and remade us versions of anything japanese are sometimes quite ahhh cough cough. Also the little girl narator i forgot the name of her when she speaks in jap is awesome i mean her voice is simply perfect for the moments and adds to this already ass kicking movie not to mention me studying jap might make me a bit biased :P but when you get the dvd you MUST watch it with the jap language with english subtitles otherwise its not simply the same. When you watch FF7:AC why don't you play the spot the limitbreak and name it game.

And while this may seem offensive to some people while on the surface AC looks just like an only action without much story type of movie if you look underneath the underneath - how many people will know where that statement comes from - it automatically assumes that people who watch it fully and i mean FULLY understand the whole plot, how jenova and everything works and know about the extra hidden cutscenes, fully explored areas and practically uncovered every secret. If you don't you won't understand a lot of FF7:AC, especially the ending and go wtf.

For those who haven't played the game and have no idea, luckily for you at the start the movie spends a few minutes summarising the events of ff7 though it glosses over a lot of the major plot points so as not to ruin the game.

Ha luckily I already pre-ordered my FF7 AC. Definitely getting FFXII and FF7 Dirge of Cerberus which is coming sometime on the summer. *Drool*

I dont even consider 11 and 12 to be ff games, square enix has truely killed the series, unless 13 gets back to the way ff games were supossed to be the series is gonna die.
