Also the little girl narator i forgot the name of her when she speaks in jap is awesome i mean her voice is simply perfect for the moments and adds to this already ass kicking movie not to mention me studying jap might make me a bit biased :P but when you get the dvd you MUST watch it with the jap language with english subtitles otherwise its not simply the same. When you watch FF7:AC why don't you play the spot the limitbreak and name it game.

And while this may seem offensive to some people while on the surface AC looks just like an only action without much story type of movie if you look underneath the underneath - how many people will know where that statement comes from - it automatically assumes that people who watch it fully and i mean FULLY understand the whole plot, how jenova and everything works and know about the extra hidden cutscenes, fully explored areas and practically uncovered every secret. If you don't you won't understand a lot of FF7:AC, especially the ending and go wtf.

For those who haven't played the game and have no idea, luckily for you at the start the movie spends a few minutes summarising the events of ff7 though it glosses over a lot of the major plot points so as not to ruin the game.

ditto, i totally agree---pesonally i prefer to read the subtitles and the audio is in japanese so the atmosphere is enhanced more i think this way. OR it can just be me.

I think my flatmate summed it up well:

"If a Japanese man is angry, it sounds as if he's stabbing you with his words. It's something that the English language lacks."

That and most English voice actors suck [i.e. can't act well].

english dubbing can be good at times but can also be pretty poor and this english dubbing for japanese is a lot easier i would say than spanish, german or russian... they just don't have the same feeling. This also applies to music and movies and not just anime. But no matter what you have to watch ff7:AC in jap with english subtitles otherwise its not the same. The japanese voices for the characters are perfect for every person.

    CONTAINS PLOT SPOILER FOR FF7:AC
I mean sephiroth sounds emotionless, detached yet also toying with cloud, specially when sephiroth just stabbed cloud in the shoulder instead of somewhere critical. Also when sephiroth reveals he can never be defeated/killed his voice is so chilling
    END of spoiler

I personally love subtitles. Almost all the dubbing I've heard sucks. ie: Escaflowne. Awesome series! FOX Kids killed it! (Don't read the manga. It sucks compared to the anime.) The dubbing is terrible. Watching it in original language is the best. You get the full atmosphere of the feature. Although, I personally like Princess Mononoke in English dubs....^^'

Sure, alot of times the English dubs suck hard, but I'd chose a dual-audio release over just a Japanese-only audio release anyday.
    Forever searching...

Yeah, I feel like sales for this will be artificially lowered because nearly everyone who knows of its existance has already seen it. Nonetheless, I wish to encourage more projects like this, so I'll end up buying the UMD or the DVD.
