Thread: Guildwars

PC. No extra playing on Internet fees like WoW. If Diablo III's going to be internetfee-free also, I think this game is like an opponent to Diablo III...


Anyways, it's not like I bought the game yet. x.x. Anybody out there played it and want to comment on it?

I'm a level 12 Ranger/Elementalist and I'm currently doing quests outside Yak Bend.
You really need skills in this game. My friend is a level 18 (max level is 20) Warrior/Necromancer with a powerful hammer but he gets killed so fast and does not do much damage. I do about 4/5 of the damage he does with just a long bow with good skills.

EDIT: Elementalists are really powerful, since the can play on the weakness of the enemy. I kill 4-5 level 10 ice monsters with only one spell that costs 15 energy points: Fire Storm.
Form good parties with a good monk to do the harder quests.

EDIT 2: Changed Level 11 to level 12. =)

Yes-yes, although being a noob here, I have in fact herd of this game, very well. My friend plays it, although I don't know what he is in the game and so on, although he says that in here, you don't have to do something and something and I forgot.

Not a MMORPG like WoW though, GW is good but its nothing more then D2 clone.

I have a lvl 6 war/rng named Baron Trak and a lvl 4 necro/mes named Kei Kunachi.

I'm level 17 now and I'm doing some older missions that I should have done at lower levels. They are so easy now. XD

I got it and I didn't really like it. Probably cause I was dying to get it and searched all over town for it (Australia did not have the game - all EB that I know in Melbourne and Sydney was sold out) and I expected it to be really really good.

Having said that, I haven't PvPed yet

Or maybe being in Australia causes you to have horrible pings too.
Guild Wars is a unique type of game. It's not like WoW, not like Diablo, but a mixture of both. You REALLY need to play with other people and not try to do everything on your own.

pyromancers get really weak compared to other elementalists in the later game. btw, why are you a ranger/elementalist

Buddy's been playing for a while and I played his 13 War/Mes

Gonna go out and buy it whenever I've got some spare cash and start a War/Necro.

Addictive game, as mentioned before its kinda a cross between D2 and a MMORPG. Was kinda surprised, in the past I've played UO, ShadowBane and am currently also playing WoW and guildwars still holds up pretty well.

No monthly fee = awesome.
