Thread: Tokyopop Caught Up!

It looks like Tokyopop is about to catch up with the scanlations. The fifth omnibus is going to be released in less than a month and it's going to contain both volumes 9 and 10. The scanlators haven't even started on volume 11 yet. Tokyopop caught up fast.
I guess I don't mind buying FE from Tokyopop. Their translation is actually pretty good, they update the old information and, thankfully, it's uncensored. What does everyone else think?

Isn't TP cutting loads out of it though?

What kind of content do you mean? I've compared the first two omnibuses to the scanlations. It all looked alright to me. Or at least I didn't see anything that was censored or cut out. I think just Tokyopop decided to do the smart thing and simply wrap it in plastic instead making a bunch of unnecessary changes. It might also be the reason why Borders keeps them in the "Self Help" section instead of with the rest of the manga.

Oh thats very interesting Gus. I heard that the chapters were out of order, instead being bunched up by certain themes instead of actually following the order of the manga. Can you confirm that?

^ Thats what I meant, sorry for the confusion (although I was also under the impression that chapters were going to be cut).

All the chapters are in order, from what I can see. The manga is pretty much unchanged.

No, sorry, I just can't bring myself to believe that an American company left it unchanged or uncensored in some way.

I've only just recently become a fan of F.E. so next week i will go buy the first volume (either from online or whatever bookstore sells it.) And see for myself.

After all, if all the chapters really are in order then it will be worth collecting. ^_^

Gus is correct. After purchasing the first omnibus i have checked and rechecked. Everything is left unchanged, it features the chapters (first 20) in correct order and the translations are done well. Volume one is indeed named Flirtation and i'm sure all the other omnibus' have themes but they don't change the order of chapters. In fact they seriously dont change anything.....if they have caught up, it may indeed be worthwhile to purchase them all.

2 months since vol 5 was supposed to be released but still no sight of it
