lol some cliffhanger. Father's big plan got foiled almost immediately. And why was Scar acting so damn retarded? He allowed a nearly dead senior citizen to skewer him. Bradley should have died the moment Scar touched him; isn't he able to deconstruct and liquefy internal organs?
I'M NO HERO, BELIEVE IT!
^That's assuming Bradley needs organs as a homunculus.
heh, if father's plan doesn't get foiled right away, everyone dies and that's it.
Or what, did you have better ideas to keep father from outright killing everyone right away?
and wrath is still the best fighter in the series, the fact he's close to death is the only reason why scar even stands a chance in the first place...
and no homunculus died instantly, no matter how they died...
what, i thought the chapter was awesome ! lots of information and awesome fighting scenes
i'm actually surprised that father's plan succeeded at all - i thought it was going to be countered right away by whatever they were doing. i guess it makes sense though - the circle was for releasing souls, and it couldn't be used until the souls were bounded.
in a single chapter, we find out what hohenheim and scar had been planning. in fact, all the mysteries (the giant transmutation circle, the protagonists' anti-circle, what hohenheim has been up to, why father had to wait for an eclipse) are now resolved. it gave us a lot of information to tie up a bunch of loose ends.
the only question is: what happens next ?
father still has a lot of power and hohenheim used up a lot of power - my guess is hohenheim will be all used up by the end of the series. the alchemists get their alchemy abilities back, but making spikes and stuff has proved not-so-effective. looking forward to seeing how arakawa resolves this final battle.
Actually I didn't understand some parts of the chapter, with all the circles and everything...I guess since it only comes out once a month, the info in the back chapters gets faded real fast. Still it's a neat way of wrapping lots of things up. And now there's only Pride left...wonder how they'll deal with him. Although it's not surprising that everyone didn't actually die in the end...they sure did counter Father's plan real fast. I mean very fast. Whatever it is, it's clear the series is wrapping up.
For some reason I think it'll end at chapter 108. 108 being somehow significant for the Japanese, is that right? If I recall Death Note ended at that chapter as well for that reason.
as i said, if they don't counter father's plan fast, they're dead.
The counter circles had already been foreshadowed(in hohenheim's case, with him going around the country and talking with the souls in his body) or discussed(Ed, Al, Marcoh, Scar and May spent the last 35 chapters or so planning that, and we were shown the ishvalans going around the country to place the circles in the right spots a few chapters back)
Aren't you on onemanga as well, giorno?
Yes, I agree that they had no chance against Father in a fight, but we could have had a chapter of him toying with them and showing us what a God could do before he lost those powers.

^Yeah, after the whole swallowing the sun thing and all that last chapter, I rather thought it was a scenario where the bad guy actually gets a total devastating plan to work entirely, and when that happens usually the bad guy shows off like hell for a while before the protagonists pull out some sort of trump card. We didn't really get to see Father do anything cool other than disable alchemy (which he's done before) and shoot blasts (think he could do that before too) and make a sun (cool but ultimately he didn't do much with it).
Personally I think the author's just trying to fit the story within a certain quota of chapters.
