The sheer awsome of the Curtis/Armstrong team up overshadows any number of cliches there might be.

Great chapter. Most of the loose ends have been tied up now. My sole complaint that the scene with Izumi and her husband owning Sloth wasn't believable. How could a flip and a punch be more effective than half an hour of non-stop impaling on spikes?Also,

1)It looks like Hoenheim finally found a way to become mortal again. That explains why he was so careful not to let Pride touch him during their prior confrontations. He couldn't survive being mauled by a Homunculus anymore.

2)However, one thing puzzles me. It seems Father expected Hoenheim's Philosopher's Stone to be buried in his body like the homunculi. But Hoenheim is not a homunculus. He doesn't have a Philosopher's Stone embedded in his heart: he is a Philosopher's Stone. I though he'd have liquefied Philosohper's stones flowing through his entire body through his veins like Father.

^Perhaps Father would have transformed his body into a PS or Hohenheim really had a PS embedded in his heart...

And Sloth was down already, what they did was more or less for show ^^

it's not as if the final spike did all the damage - it's pretty consistent with the other homunculi, they have to get killed many times before they actually die.

i liked the chapter - finally felt like the plot is starting to quicken again. there are 3 more homunculi left (sloth, envy, gluttony and lust are dead). i wonder if 2 of them - pride and wrath - will eventually join the humans, considering they have at some point expressed human-like emotions. greed will most likely stick to ling and return to xing.

I don't know why, but I thout the part where Izumi threw away Sloth too unbelivable....

Still, Armstrong was a unique badass character, as always, and even the Hoho VS Father fight made me chuckle twice....

Still, I can't wait for the next chapter

i can agree with that, izumi is a bit overpowered and one of my least fav characters in the series. almost feels like a mary sue.

and yes, can't wait till the next chapter =|

To be fair, she was reasonably powered at first: look like her fight against Greed...
I still have no idea how the final fight will be to keep it from being beliviable...
