Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Discussion Thread
“Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” is set in a fictional world where alchemy – the transmutation of raw materials into objects – is science and the way of life. The series follows the Elric brothers Edward and Alphonse on their perilous journey in search of the legendary Philosopher's Stone. They set forth in the hope that the magical artifact can restore their bodies after a failed attempt to revive their dead mother cost Edward's left leg and right arm; as well as Alphonse's entire body, leaving his soul affixed to a suit of armor.

I've liked the first episode quite a lot. It seems the Lior arc will start on the next episode. I'm looking forward for the rest.
Wasn't it supposed to be like tha manga? Or is it starting next episode?
it doesn't look like lior will be starting next episode but an amusing first episode.
Yes, but you've got to remember they weren't introducing the story to newbies only, but they also had to give the older viewers that seems of familiarity. In addition, the previous anime started with Lior as well (and followed the manga quite closely), I think they didn't want to repeat the same thing. Although, it seems will get to Lior on the next episode.

- All the characters are still funny and suitably badass.
- I like Roy’s new voice.
- Al seems to be more active when he fights with Ed.
- Orange Sparkles are just as good as pink ones!
- Hughes is alive! (maybe it will stay that way this time)
- The most obvious branch off from the other stories (besides the ice alchemist monster of the week) is that Ed and Al missed their trip to Liore, which was a pretty major plot point in both the other anime and the manga.
How do you know they've missed it? We'll possibly see Lior in flashbacks
And c'mon, Hughes staying alive would be retarded.
It's supposed to follow the manga plot this time, so why the hell would they do that?
Episode 2 is out. It covers the failed resurrection of the Elric brother's mother, Trisha Elric (chapters 23 and 24).
Edit: I thought it (episode 2) felt rather disjointed at times, particularly the transition to Ed's alchemy exam; it probably would've gone smoother with some more buildup. Other than that, however, it was a decent episode.

I just watched the first 2 episodes tdy. Im looking forward to the rest. It'll be a pein to re-watch that sad episode, with *sniff* Hughes, but i'll manage.
"He is now declaring his words to the WORLD!"
"And we'd just bought a train ticket to Lior, too. Guess we're going to have to cancel that."
