i think that's probably the only explanation - Envy's original body is a small chimera. other than that, i don't see how it would make sense (since Lust just disintegrated)

True, Lust just disintigrated. On the other hand though, we see her clearly being formed from the stone after Roy tears the stone from her chest, therefore she is the stone. When the stone's power runs out, she dies. We see Gluttony formed in a simular fassion. The two that we see for sure that have host bodies are the Furer (Wrath, if I'm not mistaken) and Ling (Greed). But if Envy also had a host body, then there might be a way to "kill" the Homuculi with out destroying the person. In other words this could be a huge plot device for the manga. I just wonder about Pride and Sloth...

Hmm.. Just spend a weekend 2 weekends ago to read the whole manga. Damn it is exciting! But how frequent do they come out, anyway? my impression is that it isnt often :P

host bodies....that can be true....I don't have any thoughts about it.ahh I'm gotta reread it again.

well, if they do have a host, it definitely won't be human - it's been shown that human-based homunculus age.

I'm more currious about Pride to tell you the truth. Holenheim stated that he did have "Father's" original body. The question is if that is his true body or if it is just created because of the aspect (pride) that he represents.

what do you mean ranteil?

ranteil doesnt really make sense. He's saying the question is whether Pride's form, which is strongly related to the pride "Homonculus", or "Father", had in his original form, is his true form, or if it is the exact same thing.. Open to interpretation i guess. i see it as questioning double confirmation he has made himself.. :S

Exactly, the question is what is Pride?
Here are the options I see: 1) Pride being the first Homunculus built/produced is a compleate phillosipher's stone. In which case Pride will die when the stone runs dry. 2) Pride has a host body that was "created" when the experiment used the transmutation circle to become "Father." The Host body is mearly the Husk of Father's original body (that of the expirement). How long the body will last, or how to kill it, no clue. 3) Pride has no real body. He simply takes the form that is most conveniant for him to use. In public that is of Salem (the Furer's son) and in private it is of Father's original form the mass of shadow/teeth/eyes, of which Father originaly prided himself on having. This last assumption has him feeding off the "source" of energy Father.

isn't each of the homunculus has its own specialty?like greed,lust,wrath.
1.it's not the first one actually if you count father.it's probably second homunculus.it can't also be a complete philosopher stone.why?I think it's because a complete philosopher stone need a lot of people(father was made from taking almost an entire country).
3.it can be true because so far human-based homunculus age.why it took the form of salem we don't know yet.but I don't think it feeding off the source of energy father.
what is father actually?
