Thread: Is FMA good?

im looking for a new manga an then i hear that FMA is a good one.

Do you think is good enoght to use time on it?

... taste is a subjective thing. someone might think it's awesome, others might think it sucks.

but if you're asking for just my opinion, yah, it's the awesomest manga ever - good artwork, character development, drama, action, some comedy, storyline, and one of the coolest opening sequences ever.

i've only watched the anime, and my subjective opinion is that it sucked....
It wasn't that bad but i don't find stories about 2 sissy emo kids crying that interesting ^^
i'll read the manga some day though...

lol they do start out fairly weak. i mean, the only thing keeping the kids going was to bring back the only family they had, and that turned out to fail in epic proportions.

they have their moments of weaknesses, but most of the time, they tough it out. how far did you get anyway ?

and in any case, the anime does no justice to the manga =)

i have watched the whole anime (i didn't see the movie or other addons though)
as i said, it wasn't THAT bad, but i think it is way overestimated overall, though there are good moments too (by example, it was too stupid when the fire guy killed his boss who was dumb enough to not have hidden his skull somewhere else... i'm not sure but i think he could have destroyed it in order to have no weakness afterward, or he could have hidden it in a faraway place at least ; also, the terminator was ridiculous xP)

wow, i thought FMA was kick ass as hell. Awesome story with a bunch of twist and turns, etc. Now i'm just curious shautieh, what series have u liked?

Shautieh, don't use Emo to describe two kids abandoned by their father, watched their mother die, lost a total of one leg, one arm, and a whole physical body...who spent their young teenage years being chased around by people who only wish to use them to kill countless people.

Yeah; that's...not someone you're likely to meet at Hot Topic.

back to the subject, did you really like the ending of the anime ? because if i remember well, the youngest sacrifices himself for his brother, and then, instead of accepting this painful sacrifice, the older one sacrifices himself in return, screwing up his brother's will... >.>
and too often, the protagonists didn't use their minds while fighting, even though they could have made wonderful things with their alchemy instead (punching is not always the best solution )


edit about emo kids : some real life emo kids have gone through hard times too, and they are still branded as emo ;p
anyway, i prefer someone who is too emo rather than not emo enough, and the fact these heroes are sometime too emo is not what's the most worrying about this show for me (=> in essence, it is not the fact of them being emo which is annoying rather than how it was sometimes represented)

...*cough*... I was refering to the manga. I personally don't like the show; mind you the book and the show have two...nearly mutually exclusive stories with different events and personalities and true identifies and apples...*drones off*
