Thread: what if they age?

taking ,that the manga will last for much more chapters, for granted what do you think will or you want to happen. want /should the story develop in a way that the conclusion will be given from an older ed and al or it will be concluded while they are still kids?
i personally want to see them growing up, having them grow will also enable the author to create some more complex relations between al,ed,winry and the already grown up characters(and i don't mean it in a romantic way)cause they are still treating them as the children they are , more or less... i think

Ed, Al and Winry grown up would be nice... Gives Ed a chance to grow some more XD

but the shorty is cute...

they should have last chapter be like "5-10 years from now" and show ed, al, winry all grown up looking back. i think that would be nice.

I once read that the mangaka was planning for the manga to end with the 80th episode. It would be nice to see them all grown up, but that is all. Making the story longer just to show them older would probably not end up good. Right now, that transmutation circle all over Amestris is almost complete. Besides, the story seems to be about to reach its climax, and once something reaches that point, it can only go down.

Anyways, an epilogue, telling us what happened some years later, would be great.

wow 80th episode ? that's... 12 more chapters. though i wouldn't be too surprised, considering it's been several years, and the circle is almost complete. not to mention there's one final truth to discover. and all the pieces are gathering at the north. and we've pretty much seen all the homunculus (except Pride, unless that weird thing was Pride).

but a note that's on topic: ed *has* been growing. if you take a sample from the beginning of the manga till now, and some samples from flashbacks, there some noticeable differences. the mangaka really did a good job on that

i was thinking of an ending like this :
the story reaches it's climax yet for some, preferably good... , reason thinks stay on hold for some years and the next let's say 6 chapters will be the ending where different circumstances will lead to an end.
I am not really sure of how difficult would be to do so and still keep it interesting ...
anyhow ed has been growing i agree but i am talking about a serious leap that wouldn't be possible without the pass of several years.
Although the story seems to be reaching it's climax there is still much room for development as far as xing's alchemy is concerned (if they want to go on for ever like certain mangas do...although i think it would suck in the end if that was to become true)

he could make a spin off as the adventures of ling and mai(?), the little girl anyway that could be entertaining

well i don't know ... if that was to happen it wouldn't feating the name of the manga ....

what if they go to the east and combine their alchemy with east's alchemy and find a way to use all the energy of the solar system (cough dragonball cough hammer kamer cough) to make ed become taller(by 10 cm) !!!! this would rock xexe
now that am thinking it even if they stop father, that doesn't solve the lost body parts issue....

ps : how do the shortcuts for the emotions work anyway... i can't use them ... sob sob

i'm not really worried about ed, al and winry growing up. i'm more worried about roy getting older and still not getting married. how is he anyway? he's 29(from the omake), right? and hawkeye should get married herself. arakawa-sensei should not make her an old maid just because she's in the military.
