I think Yamazaru was replying to an earlier post, proposing the possible plotlines of a second movie, which may have included developing alchemy in our world. Which I belive too, would be cool, though, once again, highly unlikely.

well if you had read the other posts you would have realized that yamazaru was talking about something else. and try not to triple post. its annoying.

So...I've got a question: Ed's father is this Hohenheim guy...? Is he and Al then half German or so?

I like them both ... although the ending to the anime made me very angry, mainly because I didn't want it to end like that and the movie didn't make it better. Not saying they were bad though =)
In my experience, mangas tend to be better (in my opinion) because they the storyline goes much deeper and the characters are developped more and it's the same with FMA.
I thought the anime was gorgeous but the manga is illustrated amazingly.
But I choose manga. The story is better and much more in depth. =)

I always prefer to read/watch both, i'd say you get to know more. I first watched the anime, doesnt really end does it? Well, then the manga, whole different story got really confused. The only wierd thing about the manga was the random people popped up and and made a big impact on the storyline. So far so good, but i really dont know where the stuff links like the homonculis in the anime are from human transmution den you get the manga where you apply a pholospher's stone to a human... wierd.

The anime was my the first anime i saw(Chobits was the second)i really liked it,all the episode were great and never made me bored(except 1 episode...).
The movie was strangly amazing,nice way to end the story.

But the manga better in its plot too bad they didnt make it into anime.

i thought just about everyone except the ishvalans and the people from xing are more or less germans? I mean bradley is called the fuhrer and the setting certainly resembles germany somewhat, back when it was still militaristic,

yes, they remind a bit on germans and the movie also plays in the time short before the third reich (in the 1920´s). they took some aspekts from the german history for FMA (like Führer, you can also say that the uniforms look a bit like german uniforms of the third reich)

Also, when Dante put Ed on the other side he was in Britain? but when he and Envy went in he was in Germany? that made no sense to me at all..... Also, the movie was kinda corny...with the whole bad guy comes in, good guys defeat her thing....and also, someone said that the movie ends a few years before WWII right? well... if that were true Ed was 17 in the movie, which took place around 1921 (when Hitler staged his first rebellion) so he would be 32 by the end of the movie? also, if another movie took place, and if it took place during WWII, Ed would be at least 35, and it would end when he's in his 40s...also, due to Al reappearing as a 10 year old...Al is now 5 years younger than Ed....
