FMA anime vs...

I'd say the anime is definately better for the first 25 episodes, but as soon as the anime diverges from the manga it turns into turdcakes, and then anime's separate story line is quite awful, although the animation quality is quite good. But im assuming you dont watch an anime for its animation quality, but its story.

and people often say that your opinion is based on what you saw first, however, I saw the anime first (I didnt know it was based on a manga at the time), and by the end I was like... what the hell happend it was going so well and then it turned into crap!?! Then later on I found that manga, and found that it continued on from where the anime diverged... and the story was much better, and I think its a pretty cool series.

i didnt really like the anime's ending and the movie's ending. i hope the manga would have an much 'happier' ending

Well, I like them both. I can't recall at least something that i didn't like in anime. In manga - there is one moment - i was disappointed when Scar appeared to be a person who killed Winry's parents. Roy's version from the anime was much better to my mind.

P.S. Can you add the variant "Both are great" to the poll coz there are a lot of people who like them both (me, for example).

hey,can anyone tell me(or send me a pm)what´s the diffrence in the story line between the movie and the manga?
i´ve only seen the anime(and i kinda liked it^^)

the anime is an entirely different story than the manga. I like the anime for the drama and philisophical sides. I read the manga for the comedy and plot

The anime had a "philosophical" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA please... spare me. Anything that could be considered remotly philosphical was completly cliched and badly executed, it was the kind of show that makes you think that its talking about philosophy but is in fact pulling stuff outta its ass (forgive the analogy). It certainly may have been more dramatic at points though...

If you want deep philosophy go read Platon and Shopengauer. If you want some drama read Dostoyevsky or Bodler.

Manga, GreedLing is the best character ever and the anime's homonculi creation theory and multiple worlds thing was screwed up.

I agree with Lord... philosophy haha!. I think they tried to hard to make it smart , the end result sucked. I watched the anime before the manga and the manga "fixed" anything that was wrong in the anime and added a lot more elements that were not present in the anime. Specially regarding the humoncol.(i dont know how to spell it..)

Since so many people seem to favour the manga over the anime, I wonder why the manga is relatively unknown?..
