General Rules:
You may not pm your roles to other players. If you chose to lie, so be it, but do not accept any pms from the gamemaster as proof of roles. A set format will be used for all role pms.
No communication once you're dead. Townie have a Last Gasp. This is a final message that is pm’d to the gamemaster and posted in the thread.
The majority of votes from alive players is required for a lynching (eg 7 players – 4 votes needed for lynch). If even numbers, whoever gets half the votes first gets lynched. It is possible to vote ‘no lynch’, but only on the first day. Day cycles last until a lynch is agreed upon. Night cycles last until all players will night abilities have pm'd the gamemaster.
No suicides are allowed.
Role Information:
Certain roles would have normal abilities and desperation abilities. The desperation abilities can be invoked only once. Roles are as follows:
Mafia side
Underling – Desperation ability: Dawn Raid – can target anyone for a kill, but would be lynched immediately. This takes place at the end of the night cycle, so can’t be invoked if the underling has been lynched earlier that day.
Godfather – Normal ability: Pings as innocent. Desperation ability: Training – Godfather converts an Underling into a new Manipulator. This ability can only be used once and only if the current Manipulator is dead. Really only useful if Manipulator gets lynched in the early rounds.
Manipulator – Normal ability: False ping – can alter ping of people, including self. This only lasts the night and isn’t permanent. Desperation ability: Perfect Kill – can chose to commit suicide and make it look like a mafia kill. If pretends to be medic or seer, will give vigilante a kill and deny sniper a kill; will also gain a Last Gasp.
Sniper – mafia wannabe. Identity is not known to mafia members and vice versa. Gets 1 kill per dead mafia and may target any of three people with lowest post count. He cannot snipe a person with a post count higher than their own. Kills stack – doesn’t need to use them immediately, but can only snipe one person each night. Pings as innocent until snipes or joins mafia. Desperation Ability: Present Arms – may only invoke this if 1 kill in hand – reveals ID to mafia members and learns their ID, but loses ability to snipe.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Townie Roles
Medic – Normal ability: Save - can target on person for medical treatment in the night. Target cannot die by mafia means. If target person is the Godfather, this is revealed to the Medic. Desperation Ability: Signal flare – does away with night cycle. No night abilities may be used – thus no investigation, but also no mafia kill.
Investigator – Normal ability: Investigate - ping 1 person during the night to check if innocent or guilty. Desperation: Detailed Review – takes place at night. Investigator will recheck all his info. Any false leads (Godfather or Manipulator target) will be given away.
Untouchable – Normal ability: Communication – untouchables are townies that know each other’s status at the beginning of the game.
Vigilante – Normal ability: Revenge - gains ability to kill if Medic or Investigator dies. He will ping as guilty if has used revenge. These deaths will show up as signature deaths and cannot be mistaken for mafia actions. Kills stack, but Vigilante can only target one person each night.
Townie: Desperation ability: Heroism – townie chooses to guard a person of their choice. If the person is targeted by the mafia that night, townie will die in their place. If more than one townie invokes heroism on the same person, and said person is targeted, all townies protecting him will die. If person being protected isn’t targeted by the mafia, nothing happens to the townie. Mafia are informed the following day of townies who invoked heroism, regardless of whether guarded person was targeted.
That’s about it. The Untouchable, Sniper, Vigilante and Manipulator roles are subject to having enough players to make them useful roles. Certain abilities, like the Godfather’s Training one, are only useful if there are enough players for the Manipulator to be a useful role. The no suicide rule needs to be implemented because once you get to end game, the greater the number of confirmed civilians, the easier it is to take out the mafia. Mass suicide of unconfirmed players can force a townie win. The rule on the number of votes is because in a previous game we had someone lynched with only two votes against them. Doing this will force people to take responsibility for lynches. A recommendation rather than a rule, would be for people to use non ST accounts for pm’s. This would reduce the change of mails accidentally going to the wrong person.
