oh so it WAS a useless role... Screw you. >_>

@bipolar-See, I wouldn't have a problem with doing it, if I didn't recognize my own retardation at this game. The only reason I became active around the end was because we'd lose otherwise (see how much my efforts paid off?). And then I basically pandered off my opportunity to kill Evail on night 1 and by the time I got that job done, the mafia had already got into such a place that they would win if we lost last night, as we did.
As for charisma, apparently mine is already horrible *ahem* Bisko *ahem*.
But, on this:
I think #1 and #2 especially made it hard. Since practically everyone was roled, once the game got on it was hard to form a cohesive front against mafia since having fewer players presented more chances to pursue personal goals. Also, our trivial roles took away the incentive to unite. Even if we somehow ended up defeating the mafia, bisko would have won as the teleporter or me and Digi would have won as the psycho lovers, etc etc. There really is no such thing as a townie win.Quote:
So three things I'd criticize about this game:
1) Too many roles, many of them being pointless and fairly useless.
2) Too few players, especially for a game that had multiple ways to kill people.
3) The idea that we must lynch wasn't decided until later rounds, when we townies were already screwed over.
EDIT: BTW, I plan to host the next mafia game. I'll probably post the sign-up in the next weekend to next week and then start the game 2-3 weeks from now.
^ Well, it gets confusing at times. I usually suck at guessing who's mafia, I'm good however, in creating plans/strategies. (Except that one time with kolox where he refused to join me, but you have to admit, I was bored of being a mafia for so long. :P)
^That's a very nice problem. I think I've only been assigned to be a mafia twice, and the 2nd time I had to withdraw from the game.
you know having a lot of roles doesn't really messed up the game (except if the roles can kill people). Chaos made a game giving everyone a role and it was actually fun
the only problem that I could see from this game is the lack of activity. People weren' trying to find the maifa and the only ones who did gets killed.
^ I agree with what vincent said. If the townies actually tried harder they might have won.
^ urameshi said he'll start the game 1-2 weeks from now, should we give this setup another try until then? (I don't wanna host, I actually wanna play this time :P )
^ maybe it's just me, but a game where everyone has a role puts the mafia in a pretty bad start-position. Normaly both sides have to "work" for their victory but if everyone has a role, the townies are given an easy way to victory: everyone posts his role on the thread, everyone who won't get's lynched.
I know that being rolled is more fun, because you have some kind of ability but the possibility to practicaly win the game on the first day because everyone has a role, kind of kills the fun ...
I don't like using roles personally. I like being a roleless townie. I suck at using the powers and think that others are better off using them.
