Unease gripped the townies in the tenth night of this dismal business. This unease brought about the decision to not make use of the community chopping block on this night. Unfortunately for the Townies, their lull in blood lust would not quell that of the Mafia... nor of fate herself.
Henchy432 was patrolling the industrial district when the creaking of the meat packing plant door called. Walking inside footsteps echoed through the plant. Listening for a moment, Henchy gave chase to the direction of the running figure. Henchy weaved and dodged nimbly through the dark plant, coming ever closer to the elusive figure just ahead. Rounding a corner, Henchy hit the ground hard. A trip-wire?
“What is a wire doing... no.” Henchy thought and immediately looked up. The blood stained knives that were used just today glinted a beautiful shade of crimson as they tumbled out of the bin above and right into Henchy's body. The laughter of the Mafioso echoed through the plant as the screams and gasps of Henchy died down into the dark.
The lady ninja, Kazechrno, made her secret nightly rounds looking for mafia activity. The rounds never returned any results yet, but she felt tonight would be different. Suddenly, a scream rings out through the night. It came from the meat packing plant! Rushing as fast as she could across the rooftops, she reaches the plant just in time to see a shadowy figure exit the back of the plant in the alley. Leaping down for a closer look, she lands on a fire escape of an old abandoned apartment building. Shock grips her at what she sees. “Oh my gosh, it's...”
A sharp crack and scrape muffle her voice as the fire escape gives way. “If only I wasn't so quick to move without checking my surroundings, I'd have seen that the fire escape was held by one rusty bolt, not used it, and been able to inform the others of what I've seen...” is the last thought Kazechrno has, as her body falls through the window of the meat plant and into the giant, running meat grinder making hot dogs and disposing of evidence.
On the other side of town, ApocalypticArk had no idea what had transpired this night. He sat calmly in the café waiting for the sunrise, sipping his coffee. Standing, paying, and leaving for the town hall, Ark walked outside just in time to catch the cloudburst of rain. Grumbling he ran across the street. A block down, the next street's potholes had already flooded. Ark found this out the hard way as he steped in one, soaking his pants. Sighing, he shook his leg and stepped forward... only to find another puddle and create a large splash, soaking him more. Chuckling at his luck, Ark finished the job by jumping into the next pothole. A child-like joy gripped him and he jumped back into the previous pothole splashing himself all the way up to his waist. Ark laughed again and began trying to empty the potholes with every jump, only to have them fill within seconds. This game amused him greatly. Poor Ark never noticed the headlights coming upon him this stormy morning. All we can hope is that he appreciates the irony of being killed by the delivery truck of “Pete's Panchos and Galoshes” in the afterlife.
And so the sun rises behind the clouds on day 11 of our sad tale.
