Forum Search

i am a newbie here (<<duh), but as i have spotted, there is a major thing that needs to be added to forum section of this site.

a forum search is needed in here. i have seen in forum that some topics and the contents of threads are very much alike and sometimes the same, and for preventing the replikas of the topics, the users should first search the information they need and if they dont have the answers they need, then they would post a new thread.

please dont take this as a hostile post, i just wanted to point out the need of an average forum user and thread poster. (and my english is not excellent, im so sorry for that)

I have been trying to get people to search the forum before they post for a long time, and it just does not work :cry:

Admittedly, though, that link is rather inconspicuous, so can be easily missed. Is there any possible way to redesign the layout so that there's a big "SEARCH THESE FORUMS" link directly above the forum listing itself? I was thinking somewhere below the "New series; Updated Series; Completed series" key, in a little box all on it's own. Something like:

It won't prevent total newbies, but it at least should make it more visible to those who simply forget.

Is the search button REALLY that unnoticeable?

i must be blind. sorry!

the layout is great, not flashy and user friendly, but we need a gigantic buton of the search engine like dizzy has stated.

yes newbie posts will always be there, but the mods can post a link to the 'noob''s thread that directs the search engine of this forum, and lock the thread afterwards.
