Default A New way to download

    Hey Everyone + Stoptazmo staff
I have a suggestion to reduce you download costs.

I'm Planning on starting my own anime / manga related site soon and me and my group have been looking for a solution to allow people to download from our servers without killing our bandwidth.

I know lots of people have suggested bittorrent and irc, but how about using bittorrent + WebDAV mod?
it allows a web server to seed files stored on it via http. I haven't looked deeply into but it looks like it just might work.

    Thanks for your time,
    Michael

P.S I would be interested in mirroring your website for you when I get up and running. Then, I could probably write a load balancing script to automatically pic with source to DL from. Email me if interested.

Thank you for sharing your idea; however, in our case this would not be acceptable. We have already decided against bittorrent. We donít have any use for WebDAV, and that would cause an already greater load on our servers due to our massive amount of downloads on each server, and the additional modules that would be required to load with Apache, and the security that comes with it. Mirror 1 has about 600 downloads going on it now, just to give you an idea.

We already have a load balancing script, however in our case it is no good as we do not have enough money to justify purchasing the additional servers.

Our problem is we have too many downloads and not enough bandwidth to go around.

Well a good thing to release bandwith is always to rely a bit more on those who download than on those who feed, there are other ways than the torrent solution, less known but working as well DC++ or example...
