Thread: Arigatou file size

well i just downloaded without any problem the last 3 chapters of arigatou (chap 24-26-27.... don't know why but 25 give me error... maybe it's just temporary...) anyway... getting back to what i was saying i downloaded these 3 files and i was a bit amazed that you left it that size... each one of them takes 55-60 Mb....

just by saving them in JPG or PNG and by resizing them into the same size the other releases where (i guess 728 width and 1000 height more or less) i fitted it into a 5 Mb sized chapter... (right now they are in .TIF and have a quite big resolution)


i'm just suggesting that files of that size might be a bit of a waste of space that you'd want to use for different things...

If you have a problem with the file size, contact the people who translate the work. The only thing we do here is rename the files and make sure they are in zip format.

luckily i have all the space i need to download a lot of things and i have also a fast connection but what i pointed out was not for me...


actualy i have no problem whatsoever to download a 60 Mb file and if i think it's too big then i compress it, changing file formats and sizes... no big deal realy...


but what i was thinking about were two different things:
_ on one side i was just pointing out that if you host a lot of files of that size you'll have less and less space and costs might rise.

_ on the other side other people who don't have fast connection and maybe some space problems might have some difficulties with those kind of files...

oh... well... if what i just wrote is without any importance for you then i'm sorry for having wasted your time...

I understand your concern. If I do come across another file for the same chapters, I will replace it. I do not edit or modify chapters though, I leave that to the people who translate/sub the work.
